WOODLAND HILLS, CA – American Music & Sound named Chris Cairns marketing director. Cairns, a drummer/writer/producer who has also worked in live sound reinforcement, brings more than 20 years of experience as a vendor to companies including Young Chang, Kurzweil and Kawai Piano.

CHESTER, PA – Community Professional Loudspeakers named Thomas Mittelmann director of business development, Asia-Pacific. Mittelmann, who most recently worked with Powersoft, has also spent years with Lab.gruppen developing sales in Asia; his position there prompted his relocation from Germany to Singapore in 2007. Prior to that, he had spent eight years with Community, handling the company's European sales.

SHELTON, CT – Lex Products named Blake Whilden (pictured left) and Chris Singleton (right) to its inside sales team. Whilden will cover the south central region (TX, NM, OK, AR, MS, LA, CO, KS); Wilkerson will cover the western region (CA, ID, MN, NV, OR, UT, WA, WY, HI, AK). They are based at the company's offices in Sun Valley, CA.

MADISON, WI – Full Compass promoted Al Breunig to sales manager. Breunig, previously assistant sales manager, will continue to oversee the company's national sales and retail operations while playing a more prominent role crafting the company's overall sales strategy.

NORTHRIDGE, CA – Harman promoted Paul Bauman to senior manager, tour sound for JBL Professional. In his new position, Bauman will lead product development efforts for JBL's VerTec line array systems and oversee the continuing integration of JBL's tour sound products with other brands within the Harman family while reporting to head of marketing Mark Gander.

NORTHRIDGE, CA – Harman Professional promoted David Scheirman to director, knowledge resources. In this position, Scheirman has responsibility for establishing and managing new training and instructional programs and activities for the company on a worldwide scale. He will report to Michael MacDonald, Vice president sales & marketing at Harman's Northridge business campus.

NORTHRIDGE, CA – Harman named Scott Leslie director of engineering for JBL Professional. Prior to JBL, Leslie held positions with companies such as Fender, Altec Lansing, Tektronix and Sun Microsystems. Most recently, he served as CEO of Evidant Corporation, a software company he founded.

BALTIMORE, MD – Event Tech named Chad Houseknecht, longtime production manager at Nightclub 930 in Washington, DC, as the production and rental company's new warehouse operations manager. The company also named John James, another industry veteran, production manager. James has been involved in the technical side of special event production – designing audio, lighting and temporary power systems – for 20 years.

WOODLAND HILLS – American Music & Sound named Dave Hetrick national sales manager for BeyerDynamic, Fostex, and Alpine in the U.S. Hetrick is a singer/songwriter/musician with experience in the recording and engineering world. Prior to AM&S he was director of worldwide sales for KRK/Cerwin Vega Group.
