FORT WORTH, TX — ProAudio.com, a dealer/distributor of more than 400 professional audio, video, lighting and broadcast equipment lines, named Tim LaPrade senior account manager. LaPrade joins ProAudio.com after a 17-year career at Sound Productions.

WEST SUSSEX, UK – Music Group hired Nick Bellis, pictured here, to oversee the company’s customer support efforts for Turbosound products geared for portable, installation and tour sound applications. Bellis has spent 25 years in pro audio and live event production, handling audio duties at FOH, monitors and as a system tech with Liverpool-based Adlib Audio. Bellis has also worked on behalf of JBL, Tannoy and Soundcraft.

NEW YORK — At the 135th AES Convention, Harman announced its acquisition of privately-held Duran Audio BV. The purchase provides Harman with access to new electro-acoustic and software-based directivity control technologies including Duran Audio’s AXYS Intellivox line of “steerable” columns. Harman said it plans to integrate the AXYS product line and core technologies into its future audio products. PORT PERRY, Ontario, Canada – Adamson Systems Engineering promoted James Oliver to director of marketing and sales. In his new role, Oliver, pictured here, will be responsible for the growth of Adamson’s sales worldwide with focus on growing the North American market. Adamson Europe GmbH, meanwhile, promoted Martin Schlockwerder to lead the company’s marketing and business development in Europe.

COSTA MESA, CA – QSC Audio Products, LLC promoted Barry Ferrell to the position of senior vice president and chief strategy officer. Ferrell joined the company in 1990 as an applications engineer and was the company’s first technical hire for its sales and marketing department. In 2009, Ferrell assumed a leadership role within the company’s Cinema Group and was named vice president of Cinema in Oct. 2012.

SAN DIEGO, CA — VUE Audiotechnik named AVP Sales, led by Mikael Collin (pictured left) as the company’s distributor in Sweden. VUE also named Studio Sound International (SSI), led by Chris Adams (pictured right) as its sales representative for Latin America. Adams and SSI will be responsible for assembling and managing a distribution network for the company’s sound reinforcement technologies throughout the region.

TOTOWA, NJ — Peter Patel, owner of APB-DynaSonics (pictured right) noted that industry veteran Chuck Augustowski (center) has rejoined APB as director of sales and marketing.
