IPSWICH, UK — Celestion, manufacturer of guitar and bass loudspeakers and professional audio drivers for sound reinforcement applications, has appointed Claudia Haase as distribution manager for North America. Haase, based at the Celestion office in New Jersey, will work together with Celestion’s sales and distribution partners to optimize their offerings throughout North America.

WOODINVILLE, WA – Loud Technologies Inc. has appointed Matt Frazier as director of sales, APAC region for the Mackie and Ampeg brands. Frazier joins Loud after more than 20 years in the professional audio industry.

THE NETHERLANDS – Community Professional Loudspeakers has appointed Tau Audio Solutions as its distributor for The Netherlands. Started in 1997, Tau is a leading distributor with an established portfolio of quality audio brands including Ashly, Clockaudio, Audix Microphones, Contacta and Baldwin Boxall Communications.

BUENA PARK, CA — Yamaha Corporation of America, Professional Audio Division promoted Marc Lopez to director of marketing for Commercial Audio (CA). The company also named Sorrell Hanson marketing communications manager for the Pro Audio Division. Lopez joined the company in 1997. Hanson brings 14 years of marketing experience to the company. She will be responsible for managing marketing campaigns and will report directly to Lopez.

LONDON – Robin Dibble and Bradley Watson both return to Martin Audio in roles as Product Support Engineer and EMEA Sales Manager respectively. Dibble left Martin Audio earlier this year, while Watson left in 2010.

BUCHAREST, ROMANIA – Zeedo has taken on exclusive distribution of the entire product range of audio equipment from German company Kling & Freitag’s. Zeedo, established in 2007, focuses on the installation and rental market, as well as reselling.

GREENFIELD, IN – Longtime employees Bob Williams and Jason Wells have purchased Mid-America Sound Corporation, which now celebrates its 40th anniversary. Founder Kerry Darrenkamp plans to retire, but will remain until the year’s end to help with the transition.

COATBRIDGE, SCOTLAND – Music, owner of Tannoy, has stated that it remains committed to Scotland and will continue to build the Tannoy Prestige as well as other high-end loudspeakers in the country. The company, which already builds current Prestige models at its manufacturing plant in Coatbridge, is considering relocation to a new plant following large investment from parent company Music.
