NEW YORK – Audio industry veteran Dr. Richard C. Cabot will manage AES standards in the new year. He fills the role soon to be vacated by Mark Yonge, standards manager since 2001, who has announced his retirement following the 2017 AES International Convention in Berlin. Cabot has years of involvement with AES as a former president since its early years. He was one of the founders of Audio Prevision and developed their digital audio measurement technology.

GLENDALE, CA – Martin Audio has appointed Jim Sage as western regional sales manager for Martin Audio North America. With widespread experience in the pro audio segment, Sage has worked in a variety of sales and management positions for Avid Technology and Bose, among others.

SYDNEY- Damien Wilson has been promoted from sales and marketing director to CEO of RØDE Microphones and The Freedman Electronics Group. In his new role, Wilson will oversee daily operations. He joined RØDE in 2007 as marketing manager and since then, has moved up the ranks to become involved in product design and development, and intimate with every aspect of RØDE’s industrial design, production, sourcing, dispatch and global presence, both in supply chains and sales channels.

BERLIN – Thilo Schütz recently joined Stage Tec’s sales team, where he is focusing on sales of Aurus, Crescendo and Nexus for use in theatres. Schütz was previously director of marketing and sales at AFMG Technologies GmbH in Berlin. In the course of his career, he has worked as a project manager and consultant on events and permanent media equipment installations, advised cinemas with regard to their technical equipment, and worked as a freelance engineer for event engineering and event management.

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, CA – Blue Microphones announces a partnership with JMP Electronics of Tustin, CA to further strengthen the Summit Audio brand, which Blue acquired four years ago. ANDOVER, MA––Performance technology company Fishman has moved its headquarters to a larger site to allow more space for R&D, manufacturing, quality control, inventory and finished goods, as well as future expansion. The new address at 3 Riverside Drive in Andover, MA, upgrades the company from its previous 32,000 sq. ft. site to a 58,000 sq. ft. building.

BERLIN – Stage Tec has joined the Alliance for IP Media Solutions (AIMS). AIMS is a non-profit trade association, founded in 2015 by broadcasters, organizations and technology providers in the broadcasting and media sectors. Members are promoting open standards which enable migration from SDI to IP solutions.

BROCKVILLE, ONTARIO — KLANG:technologies has announced the appointment of GerrAudio Distribution Inc. as its distributor for Canada. GerrAudio is an established and respected Canadian distributor of professional audio equipment used in the live performance and broadcast industries. Its portfolio of premium brands includes DiGiCo, Clear-Com, DPA and Audio Precision.

BRESCIA, ITALY – Outline names OneCircle LLP as its distributor for Singapore and Brunei. OneCircle’s founder/ managing partner Hikam Ali says he is more than familiar with Outline’s product range, as he worked for Outline’s previous distributor in Singapore.

WUPPERTAL, GERMANY – Zach Funk and Justin McClellan have joined Riedel Communications as service and support engineers in the Riedel North America Technical Services department. Funk is based in Burbank, CA and McClellan is based in Nashville.

COSTA MESA, CA – QSC, LLC has promoted long-term employees Anna Csontos, Perry Celia and Arnie Marx to senior leadership roles. Csontos, now vice president/chief of staff, has been a key member of the QSC executive team since joining the company in 2011. Celia, promoted to senior director domestic sales, has spent the past eight years at the company. Marx, with QSC for 16 years, has been appointed senior director, software development.
