GREEN BAY, WI — Arrow Audio, the contractor hired to update the wireless system at Lambeau Field, home of the Green Bay Packers, needed to make sure there would be nothing cheesy about its ability to keep the lines of communication open. To ensure audio quality, range and the freedom to adapt to evolving RF conditions, Arrow Audio chose Lectrosonics for the job.

AUSTIN, TX — The 750-seat Austin Ridge Bible Church hired Ford Audio-Video Systems, Inc. to replace its existing speaker system with a NEXO GEO S 12 Series line array. Six NEXO GEO S1210s and two GEO S1230s were chosen along with two NXAMP 4×4 amps and two ALS2-PF subwoofers.

FALL CITY, WA — The Snoqualmie Valley Alliance Church has been equipped with Electro-Voice EVA (line array) and EVF (front-load) loudspeakers, specified by Jeff Sanderson and Todd Gathany of Onpoint Designs and installed by regional sound company Morgan Sound. The system also features EV’s latest XCS312 cardioid pattern subwoofers.

VENTURA, CA — The seventh annual Ventura Hillsides Music Festival held at Arroyo Verde Park featured the Neville Brothers, Traffic co-founder Dave Mason, Keb’ Mo’ and Jay Nash. The 2009 event also marked the seventh year that a full loudspeaker system from L-Acoustics has been deployed for the park’s natural amphitheater setting.

LOS ANGELES — Panic! At The Disco toured North America in late summer with Chester French, Fall Out Boy and reunited headliner blink-182, and that meant lugging racks of wireless equipment from one RF-congested city to the next. But Panic!’s production manager and FOH engineer, Jason Decter, credited Sennheiser’s wireless technology for keeping the panic behind the scenes to a minimum.

VISTA, CA — The new sound system provided for city-owned Moonlight Amphitheatre by Acoustics Dimensions includes 34 Powersoft amplifiers. The 900-seat venue, with a 1,200-capacity lawn area, stages Broadway musicals and uses separate vocal and music systems.

NEW YORK — Blue Microphones launched the Encore series of live microphones with a press event at Esquire Magazine’s new Signature Space at the Soho Mews featuring U2 opening act Bell X1 and singer-songwriter Zee Avi. The artists performed with the new Encore 100 and 200 microphones.

PHILADELPHIA — Metropolitan Acoustics incorporated AKG wireless microphones for the University of the Arts’ Ellen and Ronald Caplan Center for the Performing Arts at Terra Hall. The system is for two side-by-side theaters.

MORRISON, CO — Production rental company Slamhammer Audio provided sound and staging for a recent performance for the Hip Hop group Atmosphere at Red Rocks, the natural arena 15 miles west of Denver framed by two monolithic rocks. Gear from Martin Audio played a significant role.

FAYETTE, OH — Fayette Local Schools, a public K-12 school, has installed two pairs of Renkus-Heinz Iconyx digitally steerable line arrays to make the most of two key spaces in its new multi-purpose building — the cafétorium and gymatorium — which are separate spaces that can be combined as needed.
