LOS ANGELES — Riedel RockNet provided all of the audio distribution for the annual lighting of the Christmas tree at the Grove in Los Angeles.  Goodman Audio, a leading live sound reinforcement company, handled the audio at the event. 

SANTA BARBARA, CA — The UC Santa Barbara Events Center, a 5,600-seat, indoor multi-purpose stadium also known as The Thunderdome, recently upgraded its sound system with Powersoft amplifiers. The venue’s physical and electrical restrictions were a factor in the decision made by the design company for the project, Acoustic Dimensions.

LOS ANGELES —Audio mixer Larry Reed used an array of Sennheiser and Neumann microphones for the variety of competitors appearing on the fourth season of NBC’s America’s Got Talent, and for the guest artists and panel judges as well.

INDIANAPOLIS – Butler University’s Hinkle Fieldhouse may be gritty, not air-conditioned, and outfitted with bleachers instead of seats. But with an 80-year history, Hinkle is well-loved among Hoosier sports fans, and the fieldhouse was the architectural inspiration for both Conseco Fieldhouse (Indiana Pacers) and Lucas Oil Stadium (Indianapolis Colts).

BERKELEY, CA — Sound designer Brian Ronan helped bring Green Day’s American Idiot album to a live stage at Berkeley Repertory Theatre — not far from where the Meyer Sound gear he used was manufactured. “The staff at Meyer offered their abundant talent, technical expertise, and onsite support every step of the way,” Ronan noted.

NASHVILLE — There were a record 23 music performances for the 43rd Annual CMA Awards, heard over JBL’s VerTec line arrays supplied by ATK/Audiotek. Pat Baltzell, principal at Baltzell Audio Design, designed the event system.

ST. PAUL, MN — Sound Image recently used a Studer Vista 5 SR console for country music star Taylor Swift’s tour throughout North America. The tour included 52 concerts that sold out within minutes, prompting a second leg of the tour to be added for 2010.
