COATESVILLE, PA – DBS Audio has long relied upon on Midas consoles – but until recently, only the analog variety. For the 2010 festival season, however, DBS made the shift to the Midas PRO6.

LANCASTER, OH – DiGiCo has signed on with the second half of the 36-city HOW-TO Church Sound Workshop 2010 tour as the featured digital console sponsor. Earthworks microphones are also playing an integral role for the workshops.

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – Albert Leccese, 57, one of the founders of Audio Analysts, died July 17 after a long battle with lung cancer. He was a brilliant technical mind and a true gem of a human being. WASHINGTON, DC – The "Salute to the Military" USO Concert on the White House South Lawn on July 4th, now in its second year, honors troops and their families for their service to the country. While officially on hiatus, The Killers reconvened to perform six songs at the gig, mixed by their longtime FOH engineer James Gebhard on a DiGiCo SD7.

TORONTO – FOH guru Brad Mulligan made a point of setting up the new Innovason Eclipse digital console to work within the comfort zones of the majority of audio engineers at the Toronto Jazz Festival who stated a preference for an analog console.

EVADALE, TX – It took a while, but Evadale High School's drama department has finally upgraded its sound system with a new Entasys column line array system from Community Professional Loudspeakers. Brent Thornhill of Silsbee, Texas-based Southwest Building Systems (SBS) said it was worth the wait.

DAVIDSON, NC – The sanctuary at Davidson College Presbyterian Church has been fitted with a new sound system using Renkus-Heinz Iconyx IC24-R digitally steerable line array loudspeakers.

GREENSBORO, GA – The Greensboro Auditorium, built in 1939, is today's restored Festival Hall, home to classic music, musical comedy, plays, cabaret, country/bluegrass, jazz, gospel and children's music and performances. And it's also home to a single Danley Sound Labs SH-100B combined loudspeaker and subwoofer – which delivers 100 percent of the venue's PA – installed by dB Audio & Video.

LAS VEGAS – ETLive, pictured here in Orlando last fall, will be at the LDI show in Las Vegas as well this year. Designed for gear demos in an outdoor performance environment, the facility be located in front of the Las Vegas Convention Center's Hall C. It will be used during the show, from Oct. 22-24.

CHICAGO – The recent Convocation Ceremony of the University of Chicago was held, for the first time in 90 years, as a single ceremony for all campus locations. Frost Lighting, an event services company, was the lead contractor for the event, and EDGE ShowTek supplied audio reinforcement using a NEXO/Yamaha design for the 25,000 attendees.
