NOTRE DAME, Indiana – Entering its sixth performance season, the $64 million DeBartolo Performing Arts Center at the University of Notre Dame campus has recently upgraded the audio system for the Leighton Concert Hall. The technical crew is now using a Soundcraft Vi4 digital console with BSS Soundweb London digital signal processing.

SANT'OMERO, Italy – Sonique supported Bellimbusti Balneari (Beach Coxcombs), the summer tour for Elio e le Storie Tese, with a system that included 16 Proel Edge121SP subs, two Proel Edge15CXPB coaxial monitors, six Powersoft K10 amplifiers and four Powersoft K3  amplifiers – the same setup Sonique had used to support Milan-based rapper J-Ax's recent tour.

ATLANTA – Atlanta Sound and Lighting GM Scott Waterbury does not consider himself to be an "early adopter" – "I was slow getting into the digital realm," he said, citing sound quality as one reason why. But when Midas announced the release of its new PRO3 digital mixing console at the 2010 InfoComm Show, Atlanta Sound and Lighting was the first customer to place the order.

LAS VEGAS – After 20 years of sharing the stage together, including their much-heralded Last Rodeo tour, Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn will be sharing another stage – the 2010 Parnelli Awards on Oct. 22 – to personally hand their longtime tour manager, Randy "Baja" Fletcher, his Parnelli Lifetime Achievement Award.

CLEVELAND, OH – Sound engineer Garry Brown started mixing for Phish guitarist Trey Anastasio's band in 2006, then moved into Phish's mixing chair when the band re-formed in 2009. Brown then switched to Midas digital mixing consoles prior to a three-week run with Anastasio in February, and then opted to bring the Midas XL8 on Phish's summer tour.

WEST HOLLYWOOD – Bobby Crown, the FOH mixer, production manager and system engineer for the venerable Troubadour for the last seven years, brought an all-A-T package of microphones into the famous club in 2008, and they've been used there ever since.

WAILUKU TOWN, HI – Opened in 1928, the sound system for the 375-seat IAO Theater, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, was long overdue for an upgrade. It was recently refurbished by the theater's staff with a Yamaha integrated audio system purchased through Wind Over the Earth, Boulder, Colo.

TORONTO – Canadian  musician and record producer Daniel Lanois used 100 Meyer Sound loudspeakers as part of the fifth annual Scotiabank Nuit Blanche, Toronto's all-night celebration of contemporary art in Nathan Phillips Square.

LOS ANGELES – Pro Sound CA installed L-Acoustics loudspeakers and amplifiers for Universal Studios Hollywood's new attraction, King Kong 360 3-D, Created by Peter Jackson. KIVA loudspeakers are used to help transport visitors to Skull Island, where the giant ape battles dinosaurs.
