ATLANTA – Cecil B. Day Chapel, a 475-seat vaulted-ceiling sanctuary of wood, stone, and stained glass, joined the other buildings on Perimeter Church's 95-acre campus recently. Named for the church benefactor who also founded Day's Inn, the chapel was equipped with Danley Sound Labs loudspeakers, subwoofers and stage monitors.

SMYRNA, TN – For those who do not know, Mike "Moses" Beck (pictured here with some of last year's donations) has been doing a toy drive for a while now, first gathering toys to support the Marine's Toys for Tots drive, and now, for the third year, running it as the Roadie Christmas Toy Drive.

HOLLYWOOD, CA – After years of being known as one church with two locations, the members of California's Oasis Church decided to vacate its Beverly Hills address and permanently settled into its 600-seat Hollywood location.

VISTA, CA – Six weeks isn't much time to go from an initial customer inquiry to having PA systems on-site and ready to rig. But when Pyxis Industries in Riverside, California was asked by North Coast Church to bid on the design and installation of sound systems at two different locations, owner Chad Costanzo didn't hesitate.

BIRMINGHAM – Gary Boackle, president of audio contractor Clear Solutions Inc., noted that the recently-upgraded 350-capacity St. Elias Maronite Church, while visually appealing, came at an acoustic price. "The reverb time in the sanctuary went from just under two seconds to over six seconds."

MANISTEE, MI – The Little River Casino in Manistee, Michigan opened its doors in 1999 and has been growing steadily ever since. Owned by the Little River Band of Ottawa Indians, the casino and resort now features a 300-room hotel, a 1,700-seat event center, a ballroom and conference center, three restaurants, and a 23,000 square-foot gaming floor.

PHILADELPHIA – Currently in its 202nd year of operation, the Walnut Street Theatre recently invested in a sizeable wireless microphone setup from Lectrosonics. Roy W. Backes is the Walnut Street Theatre's Production Manager.

FAYETTEVILLE, GA – Suburban Legend Audio got its start six years ago, "initially doing all recording work," according to owner Jonathan Wade. "But I've always been involved in live theater, and that has become a very successful niche for us as well."

EDMONTON, Alberta, Canada – Sound Art provided an Electro-Voice sound reinforcement system for the Canadian Country Music Awards (CCMA), which were presented before 8,000 at the Rexall Place hockey arena and broadcast on CBC.

SAN FRANCISCO – AES will present two Student Technical Paper Awards Nov. 4 at 1 p.m. during the opening ceremonies for the 129th AES Convention in Moscone Center. The recipients are Tejaswi Nanjundaswamy, University of California, Santa Barbara, and Tobias Ritter, Technical University of Denmark.
