LOS ANGELES – Delicate Productions provided a Martin Audio MLA system to control the variables on Selena Gomez's 25-city U.S. tour that ranged from theaters with balconies to sheds with aluminum roofs and large-capacity arenas. The touring gear – sound, video, production and backline – also had to fit within three production semis for transport.

LA VERNE, CA – Remembered for the scene where Dustin Hoffman interrupts the wedding at the end of the 1967 film, The Graduate, La Verne United Methodist Church has also been getting by with a sound system installed not long after the movie was filmed. PS Audio Video of San Diego finally replaced the old system recently with a new one that includes a Symetrix Jupiter 12 audio processor.

CHURCHILL, Manitoba, Canada – Simon Forrester, who has put Lectrosonics gear through demanding conditions while recording sound for BBC's Green Planet in Southeast Asia and New Zealand, has done the same for BBC's Human Planet. The production crew, which spent nine months in the Arctic Circle, used Lectrosonics' SMQV variable power sub-miniature digital hybrid wireless transmitter and an SRa dual-channel slot mount digital hybrid wireless diversity ENG receiver to capture audio on location.

NASHVILLE – Country artist Dolly Parton toured the U.S. using two Midas digital consoles: a PRO6 at front of house, and a PRO9 for monitors. Detroit's Thunder Audio provided the consoles used by Mike Fechner at FOH and Jason Glass at monitors.

PORTLAND, OR – Helen Meyer, executive vice president of Meyer Sound, was recognized with the 2011 InfoComm International Women in AV Award on Sept. 23 at the InfoComm 100 conference in Portland. The award marks the third anniversary of acknowledging female AV industry professionals with a strong entrepreneurial spirit and excellence in technology management.

STATEN ISLAND, NY – ZTwo, a new restaurant that functions as a coffee shop in the morning and a sports bar in the evenings, has been equipped with JBL AE and Control Contractor Series loudspeakers as specified by JD Systems' Jonathon Joyce. The sound system contains five JBL AM7215s, one ASB7118 and two AM7215s, and is powered by Crown MacroTech MA-900i amplifiers.

DALLAS, TX – Long-time EAW customer Gemini Sound purchased more EAW KF740 three-way full-range loudspeakers, bringing the company's total inventory to 36. The gear has been used to support performances by Kid Cudi, Owl City, A Perfect Circle and Frankie Beverly and Maze. Gemini Sound is also using the gear for corporate clients.

SEA ISLE CITY, NJ – They say that by holding a shell up to your ear, you can listen to the sound of the ocean. For Metropolitan Acoustics, which designed the sound system used for a pavilion and band shell here, the goal was to not hear the sound of the ocean. Instead, Saben Shawhan, senior AV system consultant, sought reliable reliable performance in adverse weather conditions. The firm specified a Renkus-Heinz Iconyx system.

SAN DIEGO, CA – Nautilus Entertainment specified a DiGiCo SD7T digital mixing console for Costa Cruise's new flagship, the Costa Favolosa. The console is used within the three-deck Hortensia theater for productions of Vibration and Enchanted Castle.

NEW YORK, NY – For the 50^th anniversary revival of How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying at the Al Hirschfield Theatre, Jon Weston of Jon Weston Design revived some vintage audio gear as well. PRG provided a Meyer Sound UPA-1C system with non-powered loudspeakers, gear which hasn't been in production since the 1990s.

BOSTON, MA – Sound Image provided a new sound system for the 2,000-plus-capacity House of Blues. It included a 20-box JBL VerTec VT4888DP powered line array, six ASB6128 subwoofers and JBL AC26 loudspeakers for under-balcony fill. The system also includes two Soundcraft Vi6 digital mixing consoles, Crown IT4000 amplification and a dbx DriveRack 4800 loudspeaker management system.
