COLLINWOOD, ON, Canada – CHS Productions' Roger Robinson cites a client list that includes St. Margaret's Roman Catholic Church in Midland, First Presbyterian in Collingwood and St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church in Penetanguishene. Each church has been equipped with Renkus-Heinz gear.

VANCOUVER, BC, Canada – Theatre Under the Stars presented Bye Bye Birdie and Anything Goes to summer audiences here, relying upon Countryman B3W5 (red band) microphones for audio support. Sound manager Alex Livland credited the mics, which were paired with a Shure UHF-R series wireless system, for reliability.

IOWA CITY, IA – Rockapella, the a cappella group that has impressed audiences with vocal renditions of percussion and other instruments for 20 years, is preparing to embark on its annual Holiday Show Tour using AKG DMS 700 digital and WMS 4500 wireless systems for the all-important vocals. The tour runs from Nov. 27-Dec. 18.

CHICAGO – Sound Works Productions provided a NEXO GEO S12 system to support the Les Turner Foundation's ALS Walk 4 Life event, held annually in support of efforts to help those afflicted with Lou Gehrig's Disease. This year's event raised more than $770,000.

LAS VEGAS – For the Chateau Nightclub and Gardens, a new nightclub at the Paris casino on the Las Vegas Strip, designer and installer Bob Athey chose QSC's Q-Sys and PowerLight amplifiers. The 45,000-square-foot club spans two levels with a variety of indoor and outdoor spaces. The Q-Sys networks 30 zones of audio in all.

ST. CLOUD, MN – Farber Sound provided Harman's JBL VRX Constant Curvature arrays along with a Soundcraft Si3 digital console at front-of-house for the Paramount Theatre. The city of St. Cloud, which owns the venue, rents it to community groups and for professional performances by touring musicians and theatrical groups.

BATON ROUGE, LA – BAi LLC of Austin, TX recommended Meyer Sound's Constellation acoustic system as a solution for the challenges presented by the physical acoustics at Louisiana State University's 1,100-seat Union Theater. The venue's relatively low roof interfered with the requirements for an extended reverberation time for classical music presentations.

NEW YORK – The Metropolitan Opera recently hosted Tony Bennett's 85th birthday celebration at its 3,800-seat venue in New York's Lincoln Center, with guest artists including Elton John, Aretha Franklin and Alejandro Sanz. ACIR Professional (Egg Harbor Township, N.J.) provided audio support.

NEW YORK – Citing the significant (and growing) percentage of convention visitors who use iOS devices such as the iPhone and iPad, or Android devices, to stay informed and organized, AES has launched apps to provide them with information about the 131st AES convention that they can retrieve while on the go. The convention is set to take place at Jacob Javits Convention Center Oct. 20-23.

LAS VEGAS – Celine Dion, who returned to The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in mid-March for a three-year residency with close to 70 performances scheduled per year, has been using a Neumann KK 104 S cardioid capsule coupled with a Sennheiser SKM 5200 II handheld transmitter. The audio crew is also using Sennheiser SKM 2000 XP wireless series with MME 865 capsules for backup singers and Sennheiser and Neumann gear for drums.
