BOSTON – Kordis Sound & Lighting recently upgraded the audio system at the two-story Bijou nightclub with JBL loudspeakers. The top floor features a dance area with open spaces around the bar and a back room. The bottom floor is a more relaxed, upscale lounge area.

TUCKER, GA – DW Services Group has been using Aviom personal mixers to help reduce stage volume and improve spoken word intelligibility at houses of worship services and events across the U.S.

MINNEAPOLIS – Audio Logic Systems (ALS), which recently celebrated a 20th anniversary milestone with music, food and drinks at their Minneapolis headquarters, also took on the production for a major concert event for fDeluxe – a new name for four reunited members of The Family – at the Loring Theater. ALS provided DiGiCo consoles and d&b audiotechnik gear.

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – JL Sound Company founder Jamin Lynch recently provided audio support for a performance by the band, The Middle Of The Road, at the Brewster Street Ice House here. It's typical of the gigs in "cozy" environs that he mixes, and he credited his recently-acquired Soundcraft Si Compact 24 console as well-suited to those gigs.

JOPLIN, MO – The Music Aid for Joplin auction, set up by Orange Amplification, has raised $10,000 to help Dave Peterson, owner of the Glory Days Music Store, following its destruction in a devastating tornado last May.

FORT WORTH, TX – Home to the Texas Christian University (TCU) Horned Frogs' football team, Amon G. Carter Stadium is currently undergoing a multi-million-dollar rebuild, with construction scheduled to be completed in 2012. The stadium's new audio system, however, was completed in time for the 2011 football season. Installed by Fort Worth, Texas-based Electro Acoustics, the system features a variety of JBL loudspeakers, including VLA line arrays.

WESTMINSTER, CA – Korean First Presbyterian Church of Orange County, a mega church with more than a thousand members and a 30-year history in the area, recently upgraded with QSC's KLA Line Array Loudspeaker System. Aviwork, Inc. of Fullerton, CA handled the installation and was tasked with designing a sound solution to meet the challenges of the shallow and wide sanctuary, which also has a number of balconies.

VIENNA, VA – For the 7,000-seat Filene Center at the Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts, Matt Snyder and other IATSE Local 22 crew members upgraded the delay loudspeaker system with JBL VerTec VT4886 subcompact line array elements and VT4883 subwoofers. The crew members used JBL Line Array Calculator III speaker configuration and acoustic modeling software and SMAART and SIM software for fine-tuning.

LOS ANGELES – Guitarist Peter Thorn, who has worked with artists including Melissa Etheridge, Chris Cornell, Jewel, Alicia Keys and Don Henley, among others, has been using Harman's AKG DMS700 wireless system since he was introduced to it by Steve Stevens of the Billy Idol band.

LONDON and STRATFORD, Ontario – Jim Neil, head of audio at the Grand Theatre in London, Ontario, who is also a sound designer for the Stratford Shakespeare Festival in Stratford, Ontario, has been using Countryman E6 and B6 microphones over the past six years for productions including Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Cookin' at the Cookery.

TORONTO – Duran Duran's longtime FOH engineer, Snake Newton, supported the band's recent North American tour with Adamson's Project Energia. The six-week tour was a build up for Duran Duran's All You Need is Now album due for release in early 2012. Energia beta partner, Eighth Day Sound out of Cleveland, provided PA and the crew for all of the North American dates.
