MusiCraft Provides Iconyx System for First United Methodist Church

CONWAY, SC — MusiCraft provided a new audio system for the 600-seat sanctuary at First United Methodist Church here that centers on Iconyx IC16-R digitally steered column arrays from Renkus-Heinz. The system also includes a Yamaha LS9 digital console, with a Yamaha DM8 processor connected via Cobranet. A pair of Renkus-Heinz IC7 mechanically steered columns are installed in the choir loft as monitors.

Craig Doubet Chooses DPA Mics for Michael Bublé Tour

BURBANK, CA — Craig Doubet, Michael Bublé’s FOH mixer, chose DPA Microphones’ 4099 Live Instrument microphones and 3521 Cardioid Compact Stereo Kit for the artist’s Crazy Love tour, crediting the gear as a transparent solution that was also discreet and lightweight. Other factors in Doubet’s decision included the gear’s ability to reduce the amount of gain before feedback in the piano and the bleeding of other instruments into the mic, while still allowing for easy and repeatable placement. The 3521 stereo kit in particular, has been integral to Bublé’s live sound, since the piano is a large part of the show.

ACIR to Host Yamaha CL Demo at Trump Taj Mahal

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ — ACIR Professional will host a demo of the new Yamaha CL Digital Console Series on Thursday, April 5 from 12 Noon to 4 pm. The event is set for the Trump Taj Mahal at the casino’s Xanadu Theatre. Yamaha systems application engineer Kevin Kimmel and regional district manager Bob Quinones will be on hand to demo the new CL console. They will also present the new Rupert Neve Designs Portico 5045 Primary Source Enhancer and Dugan-MY16 card.

Judge Tells Sugarland to Answer Delay-of-Cancellation Questions by April 15

INDIANAPOLIS — Mid-America Sound Corporation, owner of the staging structure that fell in high winds at the Indianapolis State Fair, has been seeking testimony from Sugarland band members and its management on whether they resisted attempts to cancel their Aug. 13, 2011 show, despite the bad weather. A judge ruled March 23 that band member Jennifer Nettles will need to testify no later than April 15, according to published reports.
