WASHINGTON, D.C — Q Lights and Sound Productions provided a D.A.S. Audio Aero Series 2 loudspeaker system for a three-day event that drew some 10,000 attendees to RFK Stadium July 1, 4 and 6. The Ethiopian 4th of July Celebration, a blend of soccer and music, featured hip hop artist T.I. and rappers TPain, B.o.B., and Young Jeezy, among others.

TORONTO — Westbury National Show Systems supported a Fashion Cares-sponsored charity event at the Sony Centre here Sept. 9. The event, featuring Elton John, Janelle Monae, Scissor Sisters and Sky Ferreira, was mixed at FOH using three Yamaha PM5D-RH consoles, a DSP5D Expander and an LS9-16. A Yamaha PM5D, PM1D and 02R were used for monitors.

CHESTER, PA — Widener University alumnus Art Kalemkarian designed a new Community Professional speaker system for the football stadium at his alma mater. The Leslie C. Quick Jr. stadium now has six WET Series W2-2W8 loudspeakers covering the home team’s bleachers, with a pair of R2-52Z long-throw loudspeakers, also located on the press box roof, for the visitor seating and playing field areas.

CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY — Ryan Jackson of JCA Media LLC, who designed and installed the replacement sound system for Campbellsville Baptist Church, brought in a Metrix system from Adamson Systems Engineering. The two-array setup could be fine-tuned to cover both the 900-capacity church’s main sanctuary seating and balcony areas. The speakers are powered by Lab.gruppen PLM10000Q amplifiers, and an Allen & Heath iLive digital system, Audio Technica 5000 Series wireless receiver and DPA instrument mics round out the audio upgrade.
