Columbus Outdoor Amphitheater Using Shure UHF-R Wireless Technology

COLUMBUS, OH — The Columbus Bicentennial Pavilion, an outdoor amphitheater within nine-acre Columbus Commons Park, has been using Shure UHF-R wireless microphone systems provided by locally-based pro audio company Live Technologies. Since it opened last year, the venue has hosted Michael McDonald, Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Offspring, Josh Kelley, Tonic, and Peabo Bryson, among others. The outdoor park, an urban renewal project at the site of a former mall that had been demolished, opened with a temporary stage in 2011. The Columbus Bicentennial Pavilion opened a year later.

Sound Associates Using VUE’s a-Class for Janis Joplin Tribute Show

PASADENA, CA — One Night with Janis Joplin returned to the Pasadena Playhouse recently for a four-week stint. Sound Associates designed the audio system, which includes a setup at monitors with 15 VUE a-8 two-way systems powered by five Lab.gruppen FP3400 series amplifiers. A Yamaha M7CL48 at the FOH position delivers a total of 10 discrete mixes to the to the stage monitors.

Morrissey North American Tour Canceled Due To Health Issues

LINCOLN, NE — Battling health issues that ranged from the diagnosis of a bleeding ulcer in January to pneumonia in both lungs earlier this month, Morrissey, 53, has been forced to cancel the remaining 22 tour dates on his on-again, off-again North American tour, which had been set to run through May 1. There are no plans to reschedule the shows, said Morrissey’s publicist, Lauren Papapietro.
