Third Eye Blind, Emerging Artists Mixed on iLive Console at SXSW Venue

AUSTIN, TX — At the Skype Mobile Lounge, located at The Belmont on 6th Street here, Live Nation presented Third Eye Blind along with a number of emerging artists at SXSW in March. Allen & Heath provided an iLive T-112, an iDR-48 and its DJ mixer, XONE DB:4 for the outdoor stage. Allen & Heath also provided digital mixing systems at several other venues during SXSW including The Fader Fort, Threadgills and Vice Bar.

NEW YORK — The Tony Bennett Concert Hall, an 800-seat venue within the Frank Sinatra School of the Arts in Astoria, Queens, features an Yamaha Active Field Control (AFC) system that met with the approval of both Tony Bennett and his wife, former NYC teacher Susan Benedetto, along with Bennett’s longtime sound engineer, Tom Young. The venue also features NEXO GEO S12 line array elements and NXAMP4X4 amplifiers.

“Michael Jackson: One” To Be Heard via Meyer Sound Gear

LAS VEGAS — Jonathan Deans, sound designer for Broadway’s 2013 Pippin and Cirque du Soleil resident productions in Las Vegas including LOVE, KA, Zumanity, O and Mystere, has specified a Meyer sound system for Michael Jackson: One, the forthcoming production based on Cirque’s Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Tour. Previews for the show are set to begin May 23, with an opening date set for June 21.

Riedel Earns Sports Emmy Award for Red Bull Stratos Broadcast

NEW YORK — Wuppertal, Germany-based Riedel Communications won a Sports Emmy Award in the “Outstanding New Approaches Sports Event Coverage” category for the company’s involvement with the Red Bull Stratos project. Riedel received the honor from the National Academy of Television Arts and Science at the 34th Annual Sports Emmy Awards, held May 7 in New York City.
