AUSTIN, TX – Austin’s Circuit of the Americas (COTA), the 3.427-mile Formula One racing track that drew 117,429 spectators to watch the U.S. Grand Prix last November, worked with AV consulting firm Acoustic Dimensions and Ford AV to evaluate, design and install a system that included Community’s R-Series loudspeakers.

CHICAGO, IL – This summer The Jungle Book has swung into Chicago’s Goodman Theatre, enchanting audience members with its song and dance routines set against the backdrop of the Indian jungle. To give this new stage musical’s sound an authentic feel, sound designer Ray Nardelli turned to Masque Sound for a custom audio gear package.

DUBUQUE, IA – The University of Dubuque, with an enrollment of 1,600 undergraduate and graduate students, recently finished construction on its new Performing Arts and Campus Center. The backstage paging system includes a single Symetrix SymNet Solus 8 open architecture, fixed I/O DSP paired with four Symetrix ARC-2e wall panel remotes.

MILWAUKEE, WI – Summerfest, held here June 25-29, has been recognized by Guinness World Records as the world’s largest music festival for the past 15 consecutive years. Clearwing Productions supported the 46th annual event with more than 340 L-Acoustics loudspeaker enclosures.

BATON ROUGE, LA – Over a four-day span, Premier Production & Sound (PSS) Services worked with more than 127 bands in Baton Rouge and New Orleans at various music festivals and events, including the Baton Rouge Blues Festival, LSU’s “Groovin’ on the Grounds” and the French Quarter Festival in New Orleans. For the live sound reinforcement of each event, PSS provided Harman’s Crown amplifiers, JBL loudspeakers and Soundcraft mixing consoles.

MINNEAPOLIS, MN – The Varsity Theatre, which is celebrating a 100-year history as a venue for live entertainment here, recently upgraded and expanded with a new in-house sound system from Electro-Voice. The main workhorse of the system is the Electro-Voice XLD281 dual 8-inch line array element, a 3-way system in a  compact enclosure. The XLD281s are hung in two lines of six each. The system also includes a half-dozen QRx 218S compact dual 18-inch subwoofers for low-end support.

LOS ANGELES — Since it opened here in 2011, the Icon Ultra Lounge has emerged as a nightlife hotspot, with guests reveling to DJs supported by rented sound gear within the 8,000 square-foot lounge and also on a similarly sized rooftop.

CHICAGO — Gand Concert Sound provided audio gear and crew to support the Red and Green stages at the Pitchfork Music Festival, held July 19-21 in Chicago’s Union Park, which drew 50,000 with Bjork, Solange, Lil B, R Kelly, Savages, The Breeders, Swans and Wire. The stages featured Nexo GEO T line arrays and Yamaha digital consoles.

ST. LOUIS, MO — Fair St. Louis, “America’s Biggest Birthday Party,” was celebrated under the city’s iconic Arch for the last time before a two-year renovation, with Stanco Productions providing audio, video and lighting for the fourth year in a row. To ensure superior audio coverage throughout the fairgrounds for this year’s featured acts, including Trace Adkins, Brett Michaels and Counting Crows, Stanco chose a Martin Audio rig consisting of 16 W8LC per side with 12 W8LM and 4 W8LMD downfill cabinets a side for outfill. Crown amplification and AVID Venue Profile consoles were also used for FOH and Monitors.
