LAS VEGAS — FRONT of HOUSE readers have chosen the six regional winners of the 2013 Hometown Hero Award competition.  These top vote getters from each of five U.S. regions plus all of Canada will automatically be entered on the Parnelli Awards ballot. FOH readers will then get a chance to vote on which regional company will be awarded the coveted honor of Parnelli Hometown Hero Sound Company of 2013.

Louisiana Church Installs Lectrosonics Gear

BATON ROUGE, LA — David Hebert of GHA Architects, which was tasked with an ambitious renovation project at St. Jude The Apostle Catholic Church here, turned to Technical Services Group (TSG) for an assist with a new sound system. The upgrade includes the use of Lectrosonics’ Aspen processing and Digital Hybrid Wireless technology. TSG AV engineer Jason Martin, pictured here, handled the Aspen system programming.

New England Concerts Canceled Amid Fears of Drug Overdoses

MANCHESTER, NH — Heightened concerns over party drug risks have led to the cancellation of concerts here and in the Boston area. The Barstool Blackout Tour concert set for Verizon Wireless Arena here Sept. 28 has been canceled, and the Electric Adventure concert at Six Flags New England the same night has been postponed.  The Ocean Club in Quincy, MA also voluntarily canceled a concert set for Sept. 20. The “Return to Fantazia” EDM concert planned at UMass Amherst Sept. 21 was also canceled.

L-Acoustics Says Gear Stolen in Late 2011 Now Surfacing

OXNARD, CAL-Acoustics, which had previously reported the theft of a stolen trailer loaded with gear after the load-out following a Dec. 2011 Britney Spears concert in Mexico City, now says some of the stolen gear is turning up in North America. The stolen gear included 24 L-Acoustics K1 and 18 V-DOSC line source elements, 12 K1-SB enclosures and 48 SB-218 subwoofers. L-Acoustics is asking that gear buyers be wary of purchasing the stolen equipment, and to share information on its whereabouts with L-Acoustics, Procolor or local law enforcement authorities. Product returns or submissions of information may be made anonymously. Serial numbers are available upon request.

Community Installs System for “Horses with Hope” Rescue Organization

HOPE, ME – Broadview Farms, near Hope, Maine, is the home of “Horses with Hope,” an organization whose mission is to rescue and rehabilitate abused, neglected and abandoned horses and find ways to provide them with better care. In 2013, Horses with Hope completed a spacious new venue at Broadview Farms with an indoor riding arena, a viewing area, horse stalls and living quarters for staff and visitors. Wayman designed an array for the arena with four Community R1-94TZ loudspeakers equipped with 200-watt auto-transformers.

Boulevard Pro Installs Two Yamaha CL5s at bergenPAC

BUENA PARK, CA — Boulevard Professional (Ridgefield Park, N.J.) recently installed two Yamaha CL5 Digital Audio Consoles along with four Rio 3224-D input/output boxes, one at FOH and one for monitors, at the Bergen Performing Arts Center (bergenPAC) in Englewood, NJ. Since 1986, Boulevard Pro has been providing audio systems for rental and installation to customers around the New York metro area.
