SAN FRANCISCO, CA – The West Coast premiere of the musical, 1776, is now playing at the American Conservatory Theater’s (A.C.T.)’s Geary Theater here through Oct. 6, 2013. The production, by Tony Award-winning director Frank Galati, features a sound design by Kevin Kennedy.  To complement the existing in-house audio equipment, Masque Sound provided a custom speaker package including Meyer UPM-1Ps and XTA speaker management processors and a monitor package of Aviom A-16II mixers and Aviom A-16D Pro Distribution systems. The system also includes Sennheiser wireless and cabled Shure and Neumann mics along with Radial DI’s.

OXFORD, U.K. — Solid State Logic announced that its SSL Live console, which made a surprise preview at Prolight + Sound in April 2013, is now shipping. Britannia Row ordered the first three SSL Live consoles; they will help support Peter Gabriel’s European ‘Back to Front’ tour. FRAMINGHAM, MA – California-based rock band The Northstar Session has been thrilling audiences and gaining fans since its formation in 2007. NEW ORLEANS – The 19th Essence Music Festival, held here July 4-7, drew big crowds with headliners including Beyoncé, Maxwell, New Edition, Keyshia Cole, LL Cool J and Jill Scott. For the main stage in the Superdome, VER Tour Sound (VER) provided a JBL VTX line array system powered by Crown I-Tech HD amplifiers to overcome the challenge posed by the venue’s 125 million feet of cubic space.

VALENCIA, Spain — Nicolas Billot, marketing manager at Equipson, based here, died Sept. 24 in a traffic accident as he was heading home after a day at work, according to Juan Jose Vila, vice president of product & marketing at Equipson. Billot was 30 years old. “It’s a huge loss,” Vila said, of his friend and colleague, “who had a full life ahead to live. This has been a full shock for all of us, and we are very dismayed for this unexpected misfortune.”

MIAMI – With more than 40 years in the industry and an extensive background in sound reinforcement solutions, D.A.S. Audio continues to hit milestones.
