ANNA MARIA, FL — For Roser Community Church, a 300-capacity church located in this Gulf Coast island retirement community, Creative Sound Solutions, LLC of Cape Coral, FL installed a sound system that includes the use of a Q-Sys Integrated System Platform from QSC Audio. The system lets users optimize the performance of the single powered loudspeaker within the main sanctuary through the use of a custom iPad user interface and the TSC-3 and TSC-8 Networked Touch Screen Controllers.

CLAYTON, NC — The Clayton Center has recently installed a Yamaha M7CL-48ES digital console with (2) Yamaha SB168-ES digital network stage boxes supplied by S.C.M.S. Southeast, Apex, NC. This console is part of a major audio and lighting systems upgrade to coincide with the Clayton Center’s 10-year anniversary.

BAINBRIDGE ISLAND, WA – As an educational institution with a focus on contemporary art, Bainbridge Island Museum of Art’s mission is to engage a diverse population with the art and craft of the northwest region. What started as a project to fix some shortcomings with the AV system in the museum’s auditorium turned into a larger project that included the use of Lectrosonics’ Aspen Series audio processing gear.

LAS VEGAS — The 2013 Parnelli Awards gala, hosted by Micky Dolenz and honoring Mark Engebretson, George Travis, Mo Morrison and Eric Pearce, is once again trending toward a complete sellout. As of Oct. 22, more than a month before the Nov. 23 event, most of the tickets have already been snapped up — earlier in the process than ever before. Voting from readers of FRONT of HOUSE and PLSN magazines, which continues through Oct. 31, is also tracking at record levels for 2013.

CHATSWORTH, GA – Church leaders at First Baptist Church here turned to Dalton, GA-based Bradford AV to design and install a new sound reinforcement system for the church’s remodeled Fellowship Hall. The room, a rectangular space with stained glass windows, hard surface flooring and a dropped ceiling with LED lighting, is used by the church for educational purposes, lectures, movies and community civic gatherings as well as over-flow from services. The new sound system makes used of Tannoy VLS passive column loudspeakers.

GARDEN CITY, KS – This year marked the fourth year that the Douglas Production Group (DPG) provided sound reinforcement for the annual Tumbleweed Festival held on the grounds of the Lee Richardson Zoo here. It also marked the first time they used their new RCF HDL 20-A line arrays for the event. DPG utilized the HDL 20-A modules on all three stages of the three-day acoustic music festival.

ANCHORAGE, AK — In today’s digital age, many houses of worship are moving towards rich multimedia presentations that are streamed, uploaded and broadcast worldwide. The need for up-to-date systems to handle this new model of worship options often requires an investment in gear and technology. For the 2,300-seat Anchorage Baptist Temple (ABT) in Alaska, this was the very impetus to undertake a revamp of its overall audio set-up. Integrators Michael Garrison Associates spec’d a DiGiCo for the Temple’s latest upgrade consisting of SD7’s and SD10 mixers.

LAS VEGAS, NV – For the third year in a row, Firehouse Productions turned to JBL Professional and Crown Audio for the sound reinforcement system at the iHeartRadio Music Festival, deploying JBL VTX line arrays powered by Crown I-Tech HD amplifiers. The 2013 iHeartRadio Music Festival was held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and featured performances by Paul McCartney, Justin Timberlake, Katy Perry, Bruno Mars, Muse, and more.

WASHINGTON DC – CTSI (Corbett Technology Solutions, Inc.), which had been brought in to upgrade the lighting systems for the beaux arts-style W Hotel near the White House here for a refurbishment in 2009, was then tasked with an upgrade to the luxury hotel’s audio system. CTSI specified a range of new equipment including Martin Audio OmniLine arrays and AQ Series speakers.

NEW YORK, NY — When William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet returned to the Broadway stage for the first time in 36 years, sound designer (and composer/percussionist) David Van Tieghem and associate sound designer David Sanderson turned to Masque Sound for a custom audio equipment package. The setup included Shure, AKG and Sennheiser cabled and wireless mics, a Digico SD8 console, XTA processing and Meyer Sound UPM-1Ps, UPM-2Ps, UPQ-1Ps and 600-HP subwoofer. The crew also makes use of D&B and EAW speakers and Sennheiser and Clear-Com headsets for the show’s intercom.  Masque Sound also provided all cabling and associated equipment.

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – For a TED (Technology, Entertainment and Design) conference, TEDxABQ 2013: Be Extraordinary, which was staged at the University of New Mexico’s Popejoy Hall here Sept. 7, On Cue Stage and Event Services’ Nicholas Taylor, pictured here, relied on Digital Hybrid Wireless microphone technology from Rio Rancho, NM-based Lectrosonics.
