TORONTO – Vaughan, Ontario, a Toronto suburb, has been expanding its bus routes and shelters for residences. Designed by IBI Group, the shelters make use of K-array KT20Cma 2” point source self-powered compact speakers.

NUENEN, The Netherlands — Hoevenaars LGV BV, a live event production company based here, added Adamson Systems Energia E15 enclosures to their production inventory. The new line array systems were promptly deployed at the “We Love The 90’s” concert held in Goffertpark Nijmegen. More than 23,000 attended the 8-hour festival featuring the music of that decade.

PORTLAND, OR – White Eagle Café and Hotel, which opened in 1905, is now owned by Mike and Brian McMenamin, who also run a variety of microbreweries, hotels, and music venues across Oregon and Washington State. The brothers and the hotel’s production staff recently worked with Eric Iverson of Rose City Sound on an audio upgrade that centers on a VUE al-4 line array.

NASHVILLE, TN — Zac Brown’s Southern Ground Music & Food Festival drew more than 15,000 per night with an enticing combination of American food and music. SES (Special Event Services) of Nashville and Winston Salem deployed a Martin Audio MLA setup that included 22 MLA, two MLD (downfill) and 12 MLX subs flown per side. 12 MLX were ground-stacked under center stage with three W8LM per side for lip fill. A DiGiCo SD7 console was at FOH and two DiGiCo SD10s were used for monitors.

SAN DIEGO — When The Last Goodbye said hello to The Old Globe here on Oct. 6, sound designer Ken Travis wanted to make sure that the audience knew this wasn’t going to be your typical musical. To create the edgy, evocative sound he was looking for, he turned to Masque Sound for a custom audio equipment package.

LOS ANGELES, CA – Invisible Cities, a new large scale opera heard via wireless headphones, opened Oct. 19 at Union Station here, where it was inaugurated with an official City of Los Angeles Proclamation. The visionary production, which was written by Christopher Cerrone and produced by The Industry and L.A. Dance project, is supported by Sennheiser gear.

FORT WORTH, TX – James Lacey III, a volunteer audio engineer for Tabernacle of Praise (TOP), a nondenominational ministry based here, mixes sound for events staged for two youth ministries, Kidz on TOP (1st to 6th graders) and TOP AGENTS (Army of God Equipping New Teens with Salvation; 7th through 12th grade). Harman’s dbx subsidiary recently donated three 1066 Compressor/Limiter/Gates to the ministry.

LUDLOW, VT – Earlier this year, Yukon Kornelius performed at the FestEVOL 2013 at the Ice House Arena, part of the Okemo Mountain Resort here. The PA system for the rock super-group and other bands consisted of Bose RoomMatch loudspeakers and PowerMatch amplifiers.

LONDON – For the West End musical production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, based on the 1964 book by Roald Dahl, sound designer Paul Arditti specified a system that centers on L-Acoustics KARA components. Autograph Sound provided 47 KARA, 10 KIVA, 10 SB18 and 15 LA8 for the production, staged at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane.
