EAW KF740 System for Avril Lavigne at Mistletoe Meltdown

TOWSON, MD  – Eastern Acoustic Works (EAW) KF740 system powered the sound for the A-list acts at the sold-out Mistletoe Meltdown show, held on Dec. 13 at the SECU Arena outside of Baltimore. Event production company Showtime Sound configured a KF-series loudspeaker rig that assured the all-star artists—Avril Lavigne, The Backstreet Boys, Sara Bareilles, Gavin DeGraw, and Plain White T’s—sounded their best.

Yamaha MTX V1.2 Firmware Update Announced

Yamaha Commercial Audio Systems’ version 1.2 firmware and application software for the MTX Series Matrix Processor, part of the company’s Commercial Installation Solutions (CIS) product line, makes the processor compatible with the MY4-AEC acoustic echo cancellation card required for distance conferencing and the Dugan-MY16 auto mixing capability card.

Audio Consultant Specifying Bose Gear for Church Installations in Texas

AUSTIN, TX — Ken Dickensheets, an audio consultant based here who has designed several recent church installations, has specified systems including Bose RoomMatch loudspeakers and PowerMatch amplifiers. The projects upgraded the audio systems at Austin’s Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church, Austin’s Hope Presbyterian Church and Midland, TX-based First Christian Church.

The Forum is Reborn

INGLEWOOD, CA – The L.A. Forum, also known simply as The Forum, is reopening in a big way Jan. 15 after a $100 million remodeling project – with the kickoff show for the “History of the Eagles” tour, capped off with the world’s biggest record rotating on the roof.  Along with hundreds of concerts, the storied venue has hosted NBA championships, Summer Olympics basketball and numerous movie shoots. It was acquired by the Madison Square Garden Company (MSG) in 2012, bringing the venue full circle in a way – it was designed by architect Charles Luckman, who also did Madison Square Garden.
