Miami’s Lyric Theater Reopens with Martin Audio System

MIAMI — The Lyric Theater, open once again to public performances for the first time in decades, now features an audio system that includes components from Martin Audio. Miami’s Drummer Boy Sound (DBS) Productions, tasked with the consulting and design for the refurbished theater’s new audio and video systems, installed four W3Ps, four AQ5s and two WS218SX subs at FOH and LE1200s as stage monitors.

LOS ANGELES — To isolate the sound of the piano from nearby percussion instruments during the Academy Awards ceremony March 2, the show’s orchestra mixer, Tommy Vicari, and orchestra setup coordinator, Dan Vicari, used DPA Microphones’ d:dicate 4011A Cardioid Microphones and d:vote 4099 Instrument Microphones. The Vicari brothers also used a pair of d:dicate 4011E Hanging Microphones for the orchestra’s drum kit.

NEW YORK The 75-year-old Diamond Horseshoe reopened recently within the Paramount Hotel here after a $20 million restoration. The venue’s opening show, with booking only through April 13, is Queen of the Night, a multi-room fusion of performance, music, circus, cuisine, design and nightlife. Masque Sound provided a solution that lets sound designers walk into any room with a tablet or computer and be able to adjust the audio levels.
