AUSTIN, TX — Audio pros supporting the 40 U.K. bands performing over a five-day span as part of the seventh annual British Music Embassy lineup at the 27th annual SXSW festival faced a considerable challenge during the 2014 event. DENVER – LVW Electronics installed a Shure Axient wireless management network to meet the needs at Denver’s Pepsi Center, which hosts an array of events ranging from sports to concerts to conventions. The arena needed audio equipment that can produce quality sound and withstand a variety of uses in a crowded RF environment. LVW is using AXT600 Axient Spectrum Manager to deliver wide-band UHF spectrum scanning, spectrum analysis, and compatible frequency coordination, all from a single rack unit.

ORLANDO – After touring with a major soft drink company and working with Central Florida theme parks, DJ Charles Miles became inspired to create a self-contained mobile entertainment experience by building a complete system on wheels. The gear of choice – RCF loudspeakers for the PA and Pioneer gear for the DJ gear onboard. China’s Donlim Marks 25 with Big Concert, DMX Provides Adamson Gear

GUANGZHOU, CHINA – To help Chinese manufacturing firm Donlim celebrate 25 years with a concert attended by close to 10,000 people, audio distributor DMX provided an Adamson Energía system. The setup included L-R line arrays of six E15 and four E12 enclosures. A total of 12 T21 subwoofers provided low end reinforcement – six stacked on the left and right of the stage. “The system performed extremely well,” said Adamson Systems’ David Dohrmann. “We were covering an area of 120 x 80 meters and it sounded great in every seat.”

Consoles are Big News at Prolight+Sound

FRANKFURT, Germany — Frankfurt’s 2014 Prolight+Sound exhibition drew 897 exhibitors from 42 countries from March 12-15. Combined with Musikmesse, there were a total of 2,242 exhibitors, with 110,000 visitors from 142 countries attending. New product launches tend run in cycles, and right now, live sound consoles are hot, hot, hot. Along with an ample assortment of new sound reinforcement consoles (for any budget), there were plenty of upgrades and updates for existing models.
