TALLAHASSEE, FL — For Capital City Amphitheater, a new 3,500-seat venue at the Cascades Park here that launches its inaugural season of performances with Tracy Lawrence and Charlie Wilson on April 12 and 13, respectively, Ultimate Sound and Light brought in 12 RCF HDL20-A dual 10-inch two-way active line array modules and six dB Technologies DVA-S30 dual 18-inch subwoofers per side.

Mercersburg Academy Gets Boost from New Wireless Gear and Northern Sound & Light

MERCERBURG, PA – For the 600-seat Simon Theater within Burgin Center for the Arts, a 65,500 square-foot facility at Mercerburg Academy, Northern Sound & Light (NSL) provide Shure ULX series transmitters and receivers, and Countryman B3 lavalier microphones. Steve Crick, the college prep school’s director of technical theatre, credited NSL for the help with the audio upgrade, which enhanced a recent production of Legally Blonde.

DENVER, CO — To record organist Michael Hey’s Feb. 14 performance on the restored Platt Rogers pipe organ at St. John’s Cathedral here, the church’s music administrator, Alberto Gutierrez, turned to recording engineer Mike Pappas, who used a variety of Neumann digital microphones positioned throughout the venue to capture the recital in 88.2kHz resolution/24-bit digital audio.

Stadium Hockey Games Rely on DiGiCo Consoles

VANCOUVER, BC – This year, for the first time, the National Hockey League (NHL) programmed four regular season games into outdoor venues in Los Angeles, New York and Chicago, scheduling the 2014 NHL Stadium Series between the previously established NHL Winter Classic and NHL Heritage Classic series of outdoor games. Tasked with mixing the live musical entertainment at the games in all three NHL series for broadcast on the NBC networks, Ron Reaves called on production provider Clair Nashville to supply a DiGiCo SD10 digital audio mixing console with two SD-Racks.
