Jennifer Lopez Uses Shure KSM8 with Axient Wireless for First Vegas Residency

LAS VEGAS — For her first Las Vegas residency, “All I Have,” Jennifer Lopez used Shure’s KSM8 Dualdyne cardioid dynamic vocal microphone with Shure’s Axient wireless system. The first leg of the 2016 residency, at Planet Hollywood’s AXIS Theater, included 10 performances that ran Jan. 20-Feb. 9. The next legs run from May 22-June 12, July 20-Aug. 13 and Dec. 9-17. The audio team supporting J-Lo’s shows also used a Shure Axient AXT610 ShowLink access point to enable the system’s frequency diversity capability with full remote transmitter control to guard against interference and dropouts.

Students at Pellissippi State Community College Graduate to the DiGiCo S21

KNOXVILLE, TENNESSEE – Recently, Pellissippi State Community College further enhanced its technical and teaching capabilities when it acquired and installed a DiGiCo S21 digital console at the school’s Bagwell Center for Media and Art. There, the S21 is the pinnacle of several audio recording, mixing, editing and production courses designed to provide the students with a well-rounded and extensive grounding in professional audio for applications including sound for picture, post-production, broadcast and live sound.

GOLDEN, CO – Colorado School of Mines celebrated the opening of its new, 5300-seat “Marv Kay” stadium with meeting and event rooms, a large press box and VIP suites, dedicated sports medicine and strength training spaces and a new sound system with Community R SERIES loudspeakers. Tom Falgien of consulting firm WJHW designed the stadium’s new sound system. Falgien chose a point-source system design using three Community R6-51 loudspeakers located inside of the scoreboard at the end of the field.

The Church At Brook Hills Upgrades to SSL L300

ALABAMA, USA – The Church At Brook Hills has recently invested in an audio upgrade through the full-service production and integration company Morris Light and Sound, installing two Solid State Logic L300 digital live consoles at front of house and monitors. Landon Robertson, Production Manager and FOH Engineer for the 2000 seat Worship Room uses volunteers to run monitors and finds the SSL’s “ease-of-use” crucial.
