BURLINGTON, WI – Sven Pro Sound based in Milwaukee, WI recently used gear from d&b audiotechnik and Allen & Heath for a high-impact solution to sound complaints at The Coffee House at Chestnut and Pine in Burlington, WI. Sven Pro Sound specified a d&b speaker system consisting of two Q10’s and two Q-SUBs,  powered from a single d&b 10D amplifier. The system is mixed by an Allen & Heath GLD-80 with inputs from an AR2412 and an AR84.

SAVANNAH, GA — For the second year in a row, Georgia’s Savannah Music Festival is an all-Meyer Sound event, with sound systems reinforcing all five venues for amplified music. With more than 100 performances scheduled through April 9, this year marks the debut of Meyer Sound’s LEOPARD linear sound reinforcement system at the festival, providing sound at the Lucas Theatre for the Arts.

MURFREESBORO, TN — The Tucker Theatre at Middle Tennessee State University’s Boutwell Dramatic Arts Building hosts a variety of major music, dance, theatrical, and television productions along with other events for the 20,000-plus student campus in Murfreesboro. Recently the facility upgraded its AV infrastructure, including a  new Roland M-5000 OHRCA Live Mixing Console as the system’s centerpiece. WESTLAKE VILLAGE, CA— Calvary Community Church in Thousand Oaks, California recently replaced its aging FOH console. Neil Penninger, Account Executive based at Guitar Center Professional Los Angeles specified an AvidVENUE | S6L modular system with onboard industry-standard plug-ins and Pro Tools integration to help the church reach its goal to increase the I/O count and facilitate recording.

LOS ANGELES – Several compact microphones from DPA Microphones were recently showcased in an intimate setting at Hollywood Sound Systems. Featuring 2014 NAACP Image Award-winning R&B artist Lady Ele and her five-piece band, the event showcased nine d:dicate 2011C Cardioid Microphones, seven d:vote 4099 Instrument Microphones and three d:facto Handheld Microphones, all used by the band for the performance.

SAN FRANSISCO – Alcons Audio, best known for their high frequency Pro Ribbon technology, provided the loudspeakers and amplifiers for the large media spaces within the media center in downtown San Francisco at Super Bowl 50. Martin Reeves of MDR Productions specified and deployed  9 LR7’s, 2x BQ211 21” subs for low-frequency extension and 2 Sentinel10 4-channel amplified loudspeaker controllers, as well as, the V-series VR8 and VR12.

LAS VEGAS – Blue Man Productions recently upgraded the personal monitor mixing systems. Provided by Clearwing Productions and Allen & Heath’s U.S. distributor, American Music & Sound, a total of 7 systems were outfitted, each comprising 2 Qu-Pac rackmount digital mixers with an additional AR2412 remote IO rack, and 9 ME-1 personal mixers with 3 ME-U hubs, as the standard across the world for BMG’s personal monitor mixing.

MESA, AZ – The Central Christian Church Mesa Campus recently completed an overhaul of its 1900-seat main worship center built around a Martin Audio MLA Compact system.  The system consists of four hangs with six MLA Compact enclosures each above the thrust but all the way back against the proscenium and four Martin Audio DD6s as lip fills and coverage for the front rows.

LOS ANGELES – Maroon 5’s FOH engineer, veteran mixer Jim Ebdon, is also known for his many tours with Aerosmith, Annie Lennox and Matchbox Twenty. For Maroon V’s recent tour, he used several products from A-Designs Audio, including a KGB-1tf instrument preamp, REDDI all-tube DI box and Electrodyne 501 mic preamp (from sibling company Pete’s Place Audio).
