D.A.S. Audio Expands Presence at American Airlines Arena

MIAMI – Located along Miami’s scenic Biscayne Bay, AmericanAirlines Arena is home to the NBA’s Miami Heat basketball team while also serving as a leading venue for concerts and a variety of other attractions. The facility’s East side area serves a wide range of activities—both basketball and non-basketball related. Facility management recently decided to upgrade the sound reinforcement capabilities throughout the area. D.A.S. Audio already has a commanding presence inside the arena. Hence, the Xfinity East Plaza is now home to another D.A.S. system that incorporates products from the company’s Aero Series 2, Road, and EN54-24 Certified product catalogs.

In Memoriam: IED Co-Founder Hardy Martin, 1936-2016

LOUISVILLE, KY — Hardy Martin, co-founder of Innovative Electronic Designs (IED), died May 1 at his home in Louisville, KY. He was 79. Martin and longtime associates Ray Allen and Robert Ponto established IED in 1978, initially to develop an automatic microphone mixer for JBL. From there, Martin and others at IED developed many firsts in the realm of digital audio processing.
