JBL VTX system powers the Yuma Tent.

Coachella’s Yuma Tent Powered with JBL Professional by Harman

INDIO, CA —Taking the spotlight at one of the hottest festivals of the year, a JBL Professional by Harman sound system was selected for the Yuma Tent at the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival in Indio, CA. Thumping away from festival open to close with some of the world’s premier DJs, the Yuma Tent’s purpose was to recreate the intimate and hi-fidelity experience of being in a high-end nightclub, but with a sound system that could deliver the experience at high SPL in a 150-foot-wide tent. With this goal in mind, sound designer George Stavro, owner and head designer of Sonic Lab Audio and Integral Sound, specifically chose a JBL VTX system for the Yuma Tent.

Solotech flew a full K1/K2 system for the 2016 Juno Awards.

L-Acoustics K1/K2 System Rocks Canada’s Juno Awards

CALGARY, Alberta, Canada –  The Juno Awards, Canada’s most prestigious music awards show, recently aired live on CTV from Calgary’s Scotiabank Saddledome and featured performances by many of the country’s leading music artists, including Alessia Cara, Bryan Adams, Buffy Sainte-Marie, Dean Brody, Jann Arden, Shawn Mendes, The Tenors and The Weeknd. But it was the performance by an L-Acoustics K1/K2 sound system—provided by another Canadian original, Solotech—that seamlessly kept the music sonically clear all night long. The system proved to be an ideal solution for Scotiabank Saddledome, which is a beautiful sounding hall with a unique hyperbolic paraboloid-shaped roof offering fantastic interior sightlines. That same design poses challenges in terms of weight limitations. However, the weight-to-power ratio of L-Acoustics’ K2 allowed the Junos to enjoy powerful system performance without concern for any weight-loading issues.

Danley Jericho Horns Added to University of NM Football Team

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – The University of New Mexico football team, the Lobos, plays all of its home games at University Stadium on the school’s south campus in Albuquerque. Erected in 1960, University Stadium underwent several expansions that brought its current seating capacity to just shy of 40,000. Recently, the school replaced its former south end zone scoreboard with a new Daktronics LED scoreboard in the north end zone, opting to include loudspeaker enclosures in anticipation of a new sound reinforcement system. That system has now arrived in the form of two Danley Jericho Horn J3 point source loudspeakers supported by two Danley BC-218 subwoofers, with power from Danley’s new DNA-Series of DSP-enabled amplifiers.

Radio Active Designs Drives Communications During Detroit Auto Show

DETROIT – Ann Arbor, Michigan-based Amazing Audio recently worked with nineRadio Active Designs UV-1G wireless intercom systems for press events held before and during the annual North American International Auto Show (NAIAS), held in Detroit. Radio Active Designs’ Enhanced Narrow Band technology allows the units to fit more than 10 times the amount of wireless systems in the same band as traditional RF Intercom systems. As a result, even the base stations, which operate in UHF, have a very small footprint in the UHF band – making them invaluable at an event of this scope.
