Danley Delivers Pure, Smooth Jazz at Atlanta’s Velvet Note

ALPHARETTA, GA – In just four years, The Velvet Note in Atlanta’s suburbs has attracted national attention. Its intimate room seats only 40 and was carefully designed by George Seldon to support music with stunning, well-balanced acoustics. Top jazz artists now make The Velvet Note a staple in their tour schedules: Christian McBride, Marcus Printup, Diane Schuur and the late great Lou Soloff, among many other jazz luminaries. Downbeat Magazine named it as one of the best jazz clubs in the country. But until recently, the only thing that wasn’t hitting the high notes was the PA system. A consultation with Danley Sound Labs changed that.

Waikiki Club Renovation Installs RCF TT+ and V-Max Loudspeakers

SAINT MARTIN, Caribbean –  The exclusive Waikiki bar/restaurant and private beach in Orient Bay, Saint Martin, has attracted worldwide customers year-round since its opening in 1993. At the end of 2014 Waikiki Beach was seriously damaged by the Gonzalo hurricane. At this point the ownership decided to collaborate with an audio/visual consultant for the sound reinforcement system of the renovated venue — a familiar spot for live jazz and Cuban bands, as well as electro house DJs. Working with Waikiki’s proprietors, the new sound system was designed with a double goal: optimize acoustic performances and get an excellent visual integration. RCF’s product portfolio came into play.

Greg Mackie to Receive Parnelli Audio Innovator Honor at Oct. 22 Awards Ceremony

LAS VEGAS — The Parnelli Board of Advisors will honor Greg Mackie, whose groundbreaking work redefined audio mixing, with the 2016 Parnelli Audio Innovator award at this year’s ceremony, which is set for Oct. 22, 2016. In Memoriam: Bruce Robbins, 59

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Bruce Robbins, 59, a longtime sound man whose career in audio spanned more than 25 years, died in April after battling an extended illness. Alerted by those who reported him missing, police found him deceased in his New Rochelle home on April 22. Friends held a memorial in Robbins’ honor at Dudley’s Parkview in New Rochelle on May 10. They toasted the life of a man who, while choosing a solitary lifestyle, excelled in his craft and treated all those he worked with — from established stars to struggling artists — with equal measures of professionalism and respect.

VUE Audiotechnik Puts a New Spin on Ride Delray

DELRAY BEACH, FL – Ride Delray Indoor Cycling Studio is an upscale, low-attitude cycling and fitness studio featuring instructors specifically trained in Stages Power metered bikes. As part of a recent renovation, the facility installed new lighting, video and an audio system centered on i-Class loudspeakers from VUE Audiotechnik. Ride Delray’s 1,000 square-foot studio previously employed a home-grade hifi-type sound system. Jay Krause of Sound & Lighting Solution Inc. said all of the loudspeakers in the venue are VUE, using a total of 14 VUE i-2×4.5 and two is-26a powered subwoofers for the installation.
