Atlanta AV Takes RCF On Tour with New Edition

BOSTON — New Edition is on the road again with all original six members through the end of summer. On tour, they are relying on an RCF TT+ system from Atlanta AV with assistance from Alpha Productions. The touring system includes 32 RCF TTL55-A three-way line array modules for primary coverage, 12 TTL33-A three-way line array modules for outfills and 18 TTS56-A dual 21-inch subwoofers arranged in a cardioid configuration to control low frequencies.

Red Hot Chili Peppers Tour with Rat Sound-Supplied Powersoft X4 Amps at Monitors

CAMARILLO, CA  Rat Sound has updated the audio system for The Red Hot Chili Peppers tour for summer with 20 units of Powersoft’s compact 4-Channel amp to drive their new Rat Sound SuperWedge monitors setup. Rat Sound’s SuperWedge features four independent speakers, accommodating all four inputs from the X4 amplifier. Rat Sound engineers were able to use the Powersoft X4’s flexible routing capabilities, configurable within its Armonía software, to enable multiple output configurations for the SuperWedges to tailor their output to the band’s onstage needs.

Lincoln Center’s Dreamlike Opera Told Through PSA Mics

NEW YORK CITY — Point Source Audio’s Series8 lavaliers will be on center stage of the Chinese opera Paradise Interrupted, set to open July 13 at the Lincoln Center Festival. LOUISVILLE, KY The Summerland tour kicked off July 8 at Louisville, KY’s 4th Street Live entertainment and shopping district, with a new RCF HDL50-A line array system reinforcing 1990s music from Everclear and friends. The RCF system included 16 HDL50-A, an active three-way line array cabinet with dual 12” low frequency, four 6” midrange and two 3” high frequency compression drivers; coupled with eight SUB 9007-AS dual 21” active subwoofers. Eight NX12-SMA active 12” monitors covered the stage.

Solotech Provides Yamaha Consoles for Multiple Stages at Montreal Jazz Fest

MONTREAL — Sound system provider Solotech supplied Yamaha Digital Audio Consoles for the 17 stages during the 37th Montreal Jazz Festival (MJF), which ran from June 29 to July 9. Twelve of the stages featuring them at both FOH and monitors. MJF is held at the Place des Festivals in downtown Montreal with close to 50 concerts daily. More music can be found in local bars, boats, and other miscellaneous venues. Concertgoers could travel from event-to-event, as all ‘outdoor’ concerts were free of charge. Performers included Brian Wilson, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Christian McBride, Chick Corea and Joe Jackson, to name a few.
