BEAVERTON, OR – Small Town Productions provided an RCF TT+ Series solution to Beaverton Fourquare.  The services are contemporary, typically running 87-92 dB. While not rock-and-roll, there are times service segments can run upward over 100 dB. The new system achieves that and with less equipment clutter.

That’s right, even though the voting for the Hometown Hero Awards won’t slam shut until Aug. 8, the door for Parnelli Awards nominations is now wide open, until Aug. 24. And if you haven’t done so, you can also nominate a product for an Indispensable Technologies “IT” Award as well.

RCF continues their 2016 Line Array Roadshow on Tuesday, August 16 at the Branson Events Center at 2527 Hwy. 248 in Branson, MO. Factory personnel will be on hand for live demonstrations of RCF line array solutions.

WILKESBORO, NC – S.E. Systems of Greensboro, NC, has been the production provider for the traditional music event, MerleFest, since its beginnings. New to this year’s MerleFest in Wilkesboro, NC, was the addition of RCF on the Little Pickers Stage where S.E. Systems deployed the RCF EVOX 12 system.


ATLANTA — In Concert Productions commanded the audio July 4 for the Lenox Square Independence Day music and fireworks celebration. They opted for a d&b audiotechnik V-Series system to provide for the approximately 50,000 strong audience.

CHICAGO — Martin Audio systems recently reinforced the Chicago Blues Festival and Taste of Chicago in Grant Park. Technotrix supplied the gear for the two events, providing the company’s MLA (Multi-cellular Loudspeaker Array) rig and other systems from Martin Audio to support the live events. The Chicago Blues Festival, pictured here, had four stages with Martin Audio loudspeaker systems.

LOS ANGELES -FOH engineer Tomas Wolfe recently began using the Roland M-5000 OHRCA live mixing console with The Neighbourhood and found that its flexibility works with his workflow.

PHILADELPHIA – Last week’s Democratic National Convention at the Wells Fargo Center relied on 104 Powersoft K10 amplifiers to deliver messages from more than 180 speeches and music from 15 acts across the duration of four-day event. The 19,500 capacity venue was an extremely reflective acoustic environment, particularly with the temporary walls and boundaries set up by attending media to create isolated live broadcast setups. The stringent security measures also added to the logistical challenge.

NORTHAMPTON, MA – The Academy of Music Theatre in Northampton, MA recently turned to veteran touring sound engineer Jason Raboin to design and install a new sound system. Among the challenges: The speakers needed to provide consistent coverage without interfering with sightlines, and there were limited rigging options. The system Raboin designed centered around four Fulcrum Acoustic CX1595 15 inch Coaxial Loudspeakers powered by Ashly nXp amplifiers.

LAS VEGAS — Every year is an election year for FOH and PLSN readers who first nominate then vote for Hometown Hero candidates and, separately, nominate and vote for companies, individuals and products vying for Parnelli honors. And — thankfully — these competitions proceed smoothly and courteously, with none of the contenders locking horns with nasty negative campaigning or chanting for the incarceration (or worse) for their rivals.

CHAPEL HILL, NC – Avant Systems Integration of Raleigh, NC, upgraded the sound systems in the Chapel Hill Public Library meeting rooms using Ashly Audio processing and amplification. The rooms are used for town hall meetings, police and fire department trainings, and other events led by citizens and associations.
