ENGLEWOOD, NJ — Bergen Performing Arts Center was switching gears – instead of renting a system, they were owning one. The new sound system had to be in place in time for Ringo Starr and His All-Starr Band. Boulevard Pro met the deadline, designing and installing an L-Acoustics Kara sound system and relished the response from Ringo.

ONTARIO, CA – Every summer nearly 40,000 bluegrass fans head to Ontario, CA, to enjoy the Huck Finn Jubilee Bluegrass Music Festival. John Holder, owner of Blue Ridge Sound, was hired to mix sound for the three-day festival, which celebrated its 40th year this June. Holder, a longtime Earthworks microphone user, brought his Earthworks SR20 microphones along to capture it all.

MEXICO CITY – 3G Productions is deploying a Martin Audio MLA system for a US tour by Mexican singer-songwriter Julion Alvarez. Alvarez, one of the most popular interpreters of a regional Mexican music genre known as “Banda,” has several Latin Grammy Award nominations and is the first with a following large enough to justify a tour of this size in arenas across the country.

NEW YORK — A new permanent sound reinforcement system centered on Meyer Sound’s LEO components has been installed at Radio City Music Hall in midtown Manhattan. The new system will support performances by the Radio City Rockettes, including this summer’s New York Spectacular and the Christmas Spectacular slated for this upcoming holiday season.  

ANNAPOLIS, MD—JBL by Harman VTX Series line arrays provided live sound at the Chesapeake Bay Blues Festival. “We were in really poor weather conditions the whole weekend—we gave floating subs a whole new meaning,” says Jared Miller, production manager at vendor Palmetto Soundworks. “The performance of the VTX rig was excellent, even with that much water.”

LAS VEGAS — The Parnelli Awards Board of Advisors announced that Grammy nominated composer/guitarist Adrian Belew will host the 2016 Parnelli Awards. The event is set for the Rio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas on Saturday, Oct. 22, just two days after the Parnelli Golf Tournament on Oct. 20.
