L-Acoustics, Firehouse Give Peter Gabriel & Sting Tour A Hand

EDMONTON, Alberta, Canada — Firehouse Productions carried a full L-Acoustics K1/K2/Kara rig on Peter Gabriel and Sting’s recent co-headlining “Rock Paper Scissors” tour in North America. The tour visited 20 cities across the U.S. and Canada, with the pair performing their own songs and covering each other’s songs. With the artists’ respective bands, the shows featured as many as 14 musicians on stage at a time.

POTTSTOWN, PA — The SunnyBrook Ballroom is one of the few dance halls built in the pre-World War II era that is still in use. Gatsby’s Restaurant, Bar & Lounge is part of the historic facility, combining a unique menu with craft cocktails and live entertainment. Recently the existing sound system was replaced with new i-Class Superior Integrator Systems loudspeakers from VUE Audiotechnik, installed by Sonic Sound.

New Edition Tours with RCF

ATLANTA — Hailed as an R&B supergroup, New Edition embarked on a tour this summer. Nearly 40 years since they first formed, the original six members are once again out on the road. Georgia-based Atlanta AV and Raleigh, NC-based Alpha Productions supported the tour, providing an RCF TT+ system. The setup includes 32 TTL55-A three-way line array modules for primary coverage, 12 TTL33-A three-way line array modules for outfills and 18 TTS56-A dual 21-inch subwoofers set up in cardioid configuration for the low end.

Calvary Chapel Eastside Reaches Out to Roland 

BELLEVUE, WA — CCI Solutions recently installed an L-Acoustics ARCS WIFO PA system and a Roland M-5000 OHRCA Live Mixing Console in Bellevue’s Calvary Chapel Eastside. The M-5000‘s operational flexibility, sound and compatability with the Dante network protocol were some of the reasons why the volunteer-only church production team went with the setup.

SEATTLE — The two-day Ballard SeafoodFest, held in Northwest Seattle’s Ballard neighborhood, celebrates the area’s Nordic heritage with a salmon barbecue, craft booths, family activities and live music. This year’s event, held July 9-10, was the second year where Mackie and EAW teamed up to support the lineup of live music performers that included Mudhoney, pictured here. The audio setup included EAW Radius loudspeakers and Mackie’s AXIS digital mixing system.

Hometown Hero Finalists Announced; Deadline for Parnelli Nominations is Aug. 24

LAS VEGAS — FRONT of HOUSE readers have chosen the six regional winners of the 2016 Hometown Hero Award competition.  These top vote getters from each of five U.S. regions plus all of Canada will be automatically entered on the Parnelli Awards ballot. FRONT of HOUSE readers will then get a chance to vote on which regional company will be awarded the coveted honor of Parnelli Hometown Hero Sound Company of the Year. The 2016 Parnelli Ballot will be posted on parnelliawards.com in early September. The nominations process for all remaining Parnelli Award categories is now underway. The nominations deadline this year is Aug. 24, 2016.
