BIRMINGHAM, AL – Iron City has upgraded its existing Danley system with more Danley. The concert venue brought in massive Danley Jericho Horns – normally used for outdoor arenas – to pump up the volume for the heavy metal acts on the marquee, now performing in its 1,300-capacity room.

SALT LAKE CITY – When the University of Utah upgraded their stadium, Football Coach Kyle Whittingham was adamant upon one thing – he wanted a loudspeaker system that he could use for team warm-ups and practice. Performance Audio, also located in Salt Lake City, met his demands by mounting sets of loudspeakers, each made up of 212/HC loudspeakers and 118/HSB subwoofers, under the lip of the south end zone. 


LAS VEGAS – Coldplay’s “A Head Full of Dreams” tour has recently hit the US and the audio team continues to use d&b ‘s J-Series using ArrayProcessing. System designer Tony Smith explains how they maintained the audio consistency between the structural differences in European vs American stadia.

DALLAS – Colorwave installed the new sound system at Stereo Live Dallas, deploying gear from DAS Audio for the 1,500-capacity northwest Dallas club. “Being a concert venue for DJ and electronica music artists, it was vitally important that the sound be big and full throughout the venue,” says Erik Johnson of Colorwave.

PLATTSBURG, MO – Until this year, users had to bring their own sound reinforcement systems to their events at the historic Community Courtyard event space. Kansas City A/V integration firm Advanced Sound & Communication upgraded the center with a system centered on Ashly Audio gear.  “They needed a system that would sound great, but that would require absolutely no technical ability on the part of the user,” says Brent Handy, consultant, designer and engineer.

LOS ANGELES – DiGiCo SD7 mixing consoles are at the FOH and monitor positions for the “Adele Live 2016” tour, which just made its way to the US. FOH engineer Dave Bracey and Systems Engineer Ulf Oeckel designed the audio system. “Adele is pleased with the results and particularly the fact that everyone is telling her how good it sounds, which is what she’s basing her impressions on,” says Bracey.

The final awards ballot will be posted online in less than a week. Voting will continue for the month of September. MT PLEASANT, PA — AV integration firm Good Sounds of New Stanton, PA, designed and deployed Pennsville Baptist Church’s new sound system, choosing WorxAudio’s X5i-P line array system. “The project has been a huge success,” says Dwight Brown, Good Sounds’ owner/principal system designer. “The speakers that we replaced were just not right for the room and didn’t complement the praise music that was so important to the service. The new WorxAudio system sounds terrific and there isn’t a bad seat in the house.
