BOWLING GREEN, KY – Excluding the sinkhole that opened underneath the mint Corettes on display – which crunched a number of the iconic cars in 2014 – the environment inside the National Corvette Museum was quiet. Centerline Audio Visual convinced museum officials that they needed exciting music to go along with the exciting cars. They installed a Dante network audio system.

ESA Announces ‘Event Safety For All’ Initiative

SCOTTSDALE, AZ — The Event Safety Alliance’s new Event Safety For All initiative aims to lower the barriers to broader participation in its programs, starting with what it costs to join. Annual membership dues are dropping from $180 a year to $75 a year. The 2016 Event Safety Summit, set for Nov. 29-Dec. 1 in Lititz, PA, is now $1,250 for members, and $1,500 for non-members. And printed copies of the Event Safety Guide are now available for as low as $24.94 (although pricing may vary), while the e-book version is offered for download at $4.99.

AES, NAB Show NY to Co-Locate Conventions in 2017

NEW YORK — NAB Show New York and the Audio Engineering Society (AES) are co-locating their conventions in 2017. The events, both at the Javits Convention Center, will overlap, with AES taking place Oct. 18-21, 2017 and NAB Show New York taking place Oct. 18-19, 2017. Combined, the events are expected to draw more than 25,000 audio and video professionals to New York. Together, these events are expected to create one of the most comprehensive and largest media and entertainment events held on the East Coast, with more than 600 exhibitors attending.

Pitbull’s “Bad Man” Tour Backed by Waves eMotion Mixing Consoles

DENVER — For Pitbull’s recent “Bad Man” tour, which ran from July 6-Aug. 18 and featured fellow artists Prince Royce and Farruko, Pitbull’s FOH engineer Will Madera made use of a Waves eMotion LV1 mixing console. Farruko’s FOH engineer, Gabriel Gill, also used the eMotion LV1 desk on the trek, which ventured from Fresno, CA to the Eastern U.S. and Canada before looping back to Denver this summer.
