SCOTTSDALE, AZ — The Event Safety Alliance’s new Event Safety For All initiative aims to lower the barriers to broader participation in its programs, starting with what it costs to join. Annual membership dues are dropping from $180 a year to $75 a year. The 2016 Event Safety Summit, set for Nov. 29-Dec. 1 in Lititz, PA, is now $1,250 for members, and $1,500 for non-members. And printed copies of the Event Safety Guide are now available for as low as $24.94 (although pricing may vary), while the e-book version is offered for download at $4.99.

HARRISBURG, PA – Regional sound company Anderson Audio has added 18 Powersoft X4 amplifiers to its inventory, replacing their existing stock of amplifiers. “While it was the networking piece that got us interested in the X series in the first place, there is so much more to the X4,” says Anderson Audio President Chris Anderson.

NEW YORK — NAB Show New York and the Audio Engineering Society (AES) are co-locating their conventions in 2017. The events, both at the Javits Convention Center, will overlap, with AES taking place Oct. 18-21, 2017 and NAB Show New York taking place Oct. 18-19, 2017. Combined, the events are expected to draw more than 25,000 audio and video professionals to New York. Together, these events are expected to create one of the most comprehensive and largest media and entertainment events held on the East Coast, with more than 600 exhibitors attending.

DENVER — For Pitbull’s recent “Bad Man” tour, which ran from July 6-Aug. 18 and featured fellow artists Prince Royce and Farruko, Pitbull’s FOH engineer Will Madera made use of a Waves eMotion LV1 mixing console. Farruko’s FOH engineer, Gabriel Gill, also used the eMotion LV1 desk on the trek, which ventured from Fresno, CA to the Eastern U.S. and Canada before looping back to Denver this summer.

INDIANOLA, MS – Showtec Productions upgraded its gear with DPA Microphones to compete with bigger production companies for bigger shows. They deployed the gear when they won the bid for the B.B. King Homecoming Festival.

DENVER—For Riot Fest’s Labor Day 2016 in Denver, the production team sought out Nomad Sound of Austin, TX to provide audio for the Nichole Hoffman Stage.
 Nomad chose to use Nexo and Yamaha for the event.

PEMBROKE PINES, FL – Drummer Boy Sound Productions of Miami recently provided a Martin Audio speaker system along with other production gear for Democratic Vice Presidential nominee Tim Kaine’s speaking engagement. Afterward, Drummer Boy Sound hosted Kaine onsite at their Miami-based location for a casual visit.
