NASHVILLE – Shure’s SM58 microphone celebrated its 50th anniversary along with The 50th Country Music Awards, which aired recently from Nashville. Lectrosonics Lands a Role in ‘A Chorus Line’

STRATFORD, ONTARIO — When A Chorus Line was modified to take place on a thrust stage – with the audience seated on three sides of the show – it needed Lectrosonics SSM super slight micro transmitters to remain hidden on the performers. Says Peter McBoyle, sound designer and theatre consultant, “A Chorus Line also required more volume with a pop sensibility to it than many shows that I’ve done at Stratford. Houston’s Alley Theatre Using PSA’s Discreet Embrace Earmounts

HOUSTON — Houston’s Alley Theatre has been testing out the new Embrace earmounts from Point Source Audio (PSA) during multiple production runs throughout a six-month period. Sound supervisor Pierre Dupree attributed his long-standing mic’ing challenge to there being no bad seat in the house in the intimate setting, which means there is a strong visual component for the audience. The actor mics need to blend away and until Embrace, it had been no easy task.
