NEW YORK – Meyer Sound Leo Family line arrays have been tapped to anchor the sound for some of the most talked-about new shows both on Broadway and heading out on national tours. New shows in New York include Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812, the Cats revival and the annual holiday spectacular at the Radio City Music Hall. In addition, the tours of Fun Home and Finding Neverland are both carrying Leopard line array systems.

DES MOINES, IA — Capitol City Church has upgraded its sound reinforcement system to include two TrueLine X2i-P All-In-One Compact Line Array enclosures from WorxAudio Technologies. The church’s original speaker system consisted of a center cluster of five underpowered 12-inch speakers. The layout of the cluster and the coverage pattern of the individual speakers was not adequate for the width of the room, so there were dropouts throughout the space and it was difficult to understand dialogue.

WARNER ROBINS, GA – Fellowship Bible Baptist Church featured a sanctuary in a dome-shaped building. While it was amazing to look at, the dome was an acoustical nightmare and wreaked havoc with intelligibility. Echoes throughout the sanctuary kept churchgoers from hearing the pastor and the choir. dB Audio & Video stepped in with a Danley Sound Labs loudspeaker and subwoofer array to provide sonic solutions.

TYLER, TX – Nashville-based AV company Morris chose and installed the Earthworks FW730 FlexWand to upgrade the audio system at Green Acres Baptist Church in Tyler, TX. Serving the 300-voice choir loft was just one of the audio challenges. Morris CEO Danny Rosenbalm says, “The mics had to blend in visually. They could not hang from the ceiling and needed integrated cable management system. Lastly, they had to be of extremely high quality.”

NEW YORK – The Gray Mare, a new pub in Manhattan’s East Village, needed an audio system that was cost-effective, energy efficient and conservative in the tight-spaced real estate where every square foot counts. Local integration firm Starview Satellite got an assist from A/V manufacturer’s rep firm Cardone, Solomon & Associates for the project.

The compact and versatile ShowMatch loudspeaker features DeltaQ next-generation array technology, offering the ability to build traditional (J-Array or Constant Curvature) and DeltaQ array configurations, allowing both portable/rental and installed applications to deploy selectable coverage control. ShowMatch arrays are capable of generating a maximum SPL of up to 145 dB (peak), or when SPL is less critical, they offer the ability to achieve full coverage with fewer modules for significant weight, height and cost savings.

LOS ANGELES – On the current European leg of Bieber’s 2016 Purpose World Tour, which is being globally supported by VER Tour Sound, Van Druten and monitor engineer Alex MacLeod are using a pair of fully loaded DiGiCo SD7s to run more than 120 input channels, more than 20 stereo monitor mixes, and about 20 “always on” talkback feeds.

WARWICK, RI – ATR Treehouse has upgraded a couple of school auditoriums with Nexo M6 Speakers and Yamaha TF Digital Consoles. The client wanted both venues to be as similar as possible, so whomever was trained on the system could easily move between the two.

INDIANAPOLIS – Brad Divens, the FOH mixer for Enrique Iglesias, added a mix space in his home studio to accommodate the fact that most live shows now are recorded to multitrack and need a proper mix post-event. He uses Auralex acoustical solutions, after a recommendation from Iglesias’ drummer Van Romaine.

SAN BERNARDINO, CA – Solotech Nashville turned to an L-Acoustics rig of K1/K2 to handle the audio mashup of two combined events: Ozzfest Meets Knotfest in San Bernardino, CA. Despite the time crunch during load-in and setup, K1/K2’s ease of use helped the crew get the job done in record time. Along with the audio quality, the crew also applauded the system’s plug and play benefits and ease of use as definite time savers for the event.

OXFORD, MS – In a recent upgrade, The University of Mississippi’s football practice fields now feature a One Systems 312/HC sound reinforcement system.The athletic department was looking for a system that could be played loudly while still maintaining a good low end presence.
