Parnelli Awards Presenters Include Alan Parsons, Kevin Lyman

ANAHEIM, CA – The roster of presenters has been finalized for the 18th annual Parnelli Awards, which will take place Jan. 25 at the Anaheim Hilton Hotel as part of NAMM 2019. Joining the stage with top awards winners Chris Adamson, Yvan Miron, Brock Adamson and host Kenny Aronoff will be Alan Parsons, Kevin Lyman and more than a dozen other presenters, each of them V.I.P.’s in their areas of expertise.

In Memoriam: Michael ‘Mick’ Million, 60

PORTLAND, OR – Michael “Mick” Million, longtime FOH engineer at the Ponderosa Lounge & Grill in Portland, OR, died Jan. 1 from organ failure. He was 60. Million got his start with Ear Systems Audio in Portland in 1977 and had been mixing FOH at the Ponderosa for the past decade. In between, he ran his own company and supported a long roster of national and regional acts and events.

Fulcrum Acoustic Awarded Patent for Passive Cardioid Speaker

ROCHESTER, NY and WHITINSVILLE, PA – Fulcrum Acoustic, LLC has been awarded a U.S. patent on a proprietary technology developed to overcome the excessive rear low frequency radiation that is a major performance challenge of many loudspeakers. The new patent, formally titled “Passive Cardioid Speaker, No. 10,123,111 B2”, was granted to inventor David W. Gunness, Fulcrum Acoustic co-founder and vice president of R&D.
