HK Audio introduces a new tool to calculate key sound reinforcement formulas.

LAS VEGAS—The Parnelli Awards Board of Directors announce that Bob Heil, one of pro sound’s most prolific inventors, will be honored with the Parnelli Innovator Award at this year’s Parnelli Awards. The ceremony will be held during the LDI show in Orlando, Fla., at a lavish event staged at the Peabody on November 16. 

QSC's new PowerLight 3 Series amplifiers are designed to bring flexibility to touring and installed sound reinforcement applications and offer a choice of DSP with remote control and monitoring via BASIS or straightforward analog input operation. The three models range in size from 2,500 to 8,000 watts. 

VIENNA, VA — The Wolf Trap Foundation's Filene Center enhanced its digital audio control capabilities for the 2007 summer season with the installation of three Dolby Lake Processors to manage main front of house left and right, and the lawn and center cluster speakers. In addition, four Dolby Lake Processors have been installed to optimize all 16 monitor feeds, including the mixer's cue. 

LAS VEGAS — FRONT of HOUSE magazine is pleased to announce that Dan Hernandez has joined its staff as National Sales Manager. Hernandez brings more than 20 years of pro audio advertising sales experience to his new position at FOH, including stints at Live Sound Int’l, Church Sound, EQ, Mix, Pro Sound News and Systems Contractor News. Hernandez will be in charge of advertising sales for FRONT of HOUSE magazine across all its outlets as well as audio sales for sister publication Stage Directions. 

NEW YORK — According to current postings on forums and newsgroups, Goldman Sachs provided $385 million in financing to back the Jordan Cos.' roughly $600 million purchase of Production Resources Group.

SAN DIEGO — Talamasca — Jungle Myths and Legends, a jungle-themed acrobatic show, is the main feature at San Diego Zoo’s Nighttime Zoo summer program. CBC Technical Inc. provided sound reinforcement for the show, using Electro-Voice XLD compact line arrays.

WASHINGTON, DC — The Afterschool Alliance today announced the appointment of Mary Peavey to its board of directors. The Meridian-based Peavey is the President of Peavey Electronics Corporation, a maker of musical instruments and sound equipment. She has been an active supporter of afterschool programs and the Afterschool Alliance since 2005 and helped make history last year when she was part of the team that helped make Mississippi the first state to offer a car tag benefitting afterschool programs. The new tags carry the slogan, "Afterschool Is Key." 

RIO RANCHO, NM —Lectrosonics, Inc. recently supported the American Cancer Society’s annual Relay for Life event in Rio Rancho in June with the loan of two Long Ranger IV systems for audio coverage. The event was held between at the track & field arena at Rio Rancho High School. Michael Hetmer, event chair for the 2007 relay, contacted Lectrosonics for help with the sound system.
