BELLEVUE, WA – Washington State Attorney General Rob McKenna announced his candidacy for reelection in style at a recent breakfast gala attended by over 2,000 supporters at the Meydenbauer Center in Bellevue, Wash. Working together with the Blue Danube production company and Hollywood Lights, Mills Music of Seattle provided sound reinforcement for the event, deploying a Dynacord Cobra-2 compact line array system.

KANSAS CITY – Located within the Hispanic community of Kansas City, the La Fe en Jesucristo Church recently acquired a new building to consolidate their worship facility into one location from its previous two. As part of the new construction, a high-end sound system would be installed. Church Trustee Noe Aguilar said the church wanted a state-of-the-art system that would accommodate every style of music, including the diverse array of Hispanic Christian bands that come to Kansas City. With a high-energy congregation involved in the music, a quality sound system was a very high priority. The church hired MSM Systems of Lawrence, Kansas as its contractor and the firm had just one month for the installation from the time the contract was received until the first service.

NEW YORK— NBC rang in the holiday season with its 10th annual "Christmas Rockefeller Center" telecast recently, featuring an array of musical talent, network stars and the lighting of the world famous Christmas tree – the 75th to stand on the spot. New York RF specialists Kevin Sanford and Wireless First were on hand with an array of Sennheiser equipment, among others, to bring the event at in Rockefeller Center to the crowd and viewers at home watching the one-hour network primetime special.

NORTHRIDGE, CA — XL5 Productions of Valencia, Calif., deployed a wide variety of JBL loudspeakers in its first year as the primary sound reinforcement provider for the annual X Games in Los Angeles.

BUENA PARK, CA – Pianist Lorie Line is currently performing over 80 concerts on “The Glory of Christmas” tour accompanied by The Pop Chamber Orchestra, and this year’s tour is centered around Line’s concert ground piano and featuring many traditional Christmas carols. Ten world-class musicians accompany Line as she and her grand piano take center stage. The audio system, provided by REACH Communications, includes 14 NEXO GEO S1210 boxes for the main line array with two S1230s positioned eight per side, along with 24 GEO S8s for the side hangs.

BUENA PARK, CA — Singer/composer Loreena McKennitt embarked on a North American tour with final stops in 17 U.S. cities in support of her latest studio recording An Ancient Muse and recent DVD/CD release Nights from the Alhambra. Allstar Show Industries, with office locations in Western Canada, Edmonton, Calgary and Vancouver provide production for the tour. Clive Alcock, one of three directors of the company, mixes front of house for the tour with audio support by a Yamaha PM5D-RH connected to the new DSP5D Expander via a Yamaha DCU5D. Two PM5D-RH consoles are used for monitors with an Aviom interface card in one of the PM5Ds.

BOSTON – This year’s Life@50+ National Event and Expo welcomed 25,000 attendees from all 50 states and ten countries at the new Boston Convention and Exhibition Center. Hosted by AARP, a non-profit organization formerly known as the American Association of Retired Persons, the three-day extravaganza featured musical performances by Tony Bennett, Earth Wind & Fire and Rod Stewart. San Diego-based MSI Production Services teamed with Thunder Audio (Taylor, Mich.) to provide sound, lighting and video for the event.
