CARACAS, VENEZUELA — Corporacion Dynaco C.A. recently provided sound reinforcement for an outdoor concert in Venezuela featuring Marc Anthony with JBL VerTec line arrays. The show took place at the University of Caracas baseball stadium and drew an audience of approximately 15,000 people.
 

SYDNEY – The network of HK AUDIO sound system users in Australia has grown. In late 2007, BE Productions, a company located in the north of Sydney, bought a 2 x 8 Cohefra Compact system comprising 16 CDR 108 C enclosures, eight CDR 210 C cabinets, and two PR 8 amp racks. This newcomer is the fifth firm on the continent to join the Cohedra user network.
 

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA – Sydney Opera House is one of the most famous opera houses worldwide. The opera house has welcomed Sennheiser and Neumann as sound partners.

MEXICO CITY – With a capacity of over 114,000, Mexico City’s legendary Estadio Azteca is the fourth largest stadium in the World. Its 40-plus year history is storied with some of soccer’s most memorable events. Rental company Producciones Reforma (El Rayo) deployed an Electro-Voice sound reinforcement system for the shows, based around X-Line and XLC line array systems.

LONDON – At London’s Royal Opera House – one of the most famous opera theatres in the world and home of Britain’s prestigious Royal Opera and Royal Ballet companies – Britannia Row Productions’ Outline Butterfly was used as the "Front of House" system for sound reinforcement at the BAFTA ceremony, the British equivalent of the Oscars, awarded to personalities from the cinema and television world since 1947.

RIMINI, ITALY – One of the few clubs in the world able to boast a 50-year history, the stylish Paradiso club offers clients a breathtaking view from its unbeatable vantage point overlooking the Adriatic Riviera. The legendary venue’s new owners — Luca De Simone and Alessandro Volta — announced their intention to reopen the Italian venue exactly 50 years after its original inauguration and restore it to its role as one of Europe’s leading clubs with a Martin Audio sound system.

COLOMBIA and ECUADOR  – Thousands of Colombians and Venezuelans attended a free concert, “Peace Without Borders,” on the border between the two countries. Colombia’s own Juanes, a GRAMMY-winning artist and Shure endorser, organized the event to celebrate the end of the diplomatic crisis among Colombia, Venezuela and Ecuador that was held at the Simon Bolivar Bridge, which connects Colombia and Ecuador.

CADIZ, SPAIN – The Spanish version of Fame – The Musical, or Fama El Musical, recently visited Cádiz in the south west of Spain. The show has toured Spain for over a year and has already seen packed houses in Barcelona and Madrid. DiGiCo plays a major role in the show’s audio success for Barcelona-based rental company Tour Serveis, which provides all the sound equipment, maintenance and logistics for the Spanish tour.

LONDON – Scala nightclub is a multi-purpose venue in King’s Cross on the north side of central London. In its current incarnation, the building has four main levels and accommodates events for up to 1,145 people. There are three bars, two dance floors and a stage for live performances. Last year, the owners of Scala decided the sound system in the main area needed an upgrade, so resident sound technician George Gregori contacted LMC Audio Systems to design a system using new Turbosound products that would work with the lively acoustics of the room.

GUOVDAGEAIDNU, NORWAY – Norwegian PA rental company, Lydfiksern, used their new Allen & Heath iLive system to its full potential during this year’s Sami Grand Prix (SGP) music contest. SGP is part of the renowned Sami Easter Festival, the biggest cultural gathering of the Northern Europe’s indigenous Sami people, held at the Bakteharji Arena in Guovdageaidnu. 

SYDNEY – Sydney closed down several city streets and held an eclectic celebration featuring over 500 artists, such as Brian Wilson, Bjork and Sufjan Stevens. Over a million people enjoyed the sun and rich festivities at outdoor stages, tents and dance floors as well as musical acts and dance troupes in performing arts venues including CarriageWorks and Sydney Opera House.For the 14th year, Sydney-based Coda Audio handled audio and production duties with self-powered loudspeakers from Meyer Sound.

STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN – United Audio Starlight (UAS), Sweden’s largest audio rental provider, has given its new NEXO GEO S12 line-array system a high profile nationally, taking it all over the country with the Melodifestivalen, the competition to choose which artist will represent Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest.
