The Scorpions Keep Rocking with Sennheiser Gear

HANOVER, Germany – With a lifespan of up to 25 years, scorpions have more sting and staying power than most other insects. The hard rock and heavy metal band that shares their name is at least as durable: it first rose to fame in the mid-1970s, and was first formed in 1965. Set to tour once more in 2010 to support their forthcoming album, Get Your Sting and Blackout, the band will once again rely on Sennheiser gear.

Sound Stylists Use Second D5 Live for Joburg Day

JOHANNESBURG – Since South African audio specialists Sound Stylists invested in their second DiGiCo D5 Live digital mixing console, bought in for the R Kelly Concerts earlier this year, the company has found both an increasing acceptance and demand for the console from the local market. A recent case in point for Sound Stylists was when they provided full audio support at the annual Joburg Day at Riversands Farms.

Porcupine Tree Tours with Midas PRO6

GLASGOW, U.K. – Ian Bond of IPB Audio, owner of one of the first Midas PRO6 live audio systems to roll off the production line, has been using it on a 10-week European tour with five-piece progressive rock band Porcupine Tree. Bond has a long association with the band, having been their FOH engineer for 10 years.
