POTTERS BAR, U.K. – Soundcraft has released its Vi1, a console that offers Vi Series sound quality, the Vistonics user interface, the Lexicon FX and the BSS EQs, but in a much smaller shell and at one-third the price. The Vi1 is just over a meter wide and includes 16 motorized channel faders with fixed and user-definable layers, 8 output/VCA faders and 2 master faders.

Dutch Companies Order DiGiCo SD8s At ISE

AMSTERDAM – The Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) trade show reported 28,489 attendees at the 2010 trade show, a 14 percent gain from 2009. For DiGiCo, the show ended with three more of SD8 mixing consoles added to the inventories of Dutch rental companies.

Guinness World Record Set with Telefunken

RADOMSKO, Poland – It is official: using a Telefunken Elektroakustik M 80 vocal mic and a Gibson J-45 acoustic guitar, Alex Carlin performed for 32 hours, earning him the new Guinness World Record for "Longest Concert by a Solo Artist." The extended show took place at the Pub Bourbon Street and broke the previous record of 27 hours, 3 minutes and 44 seconds by a French-Canadian known as "Gonzales" in Paris.
