Speed Audio Getting Good Mileage from DiGiCo SD8 in Mexico

MEXICO CITY – Speed Audio has been making good use of the DiGiCo SD8 digital mixing console it acquired in late 2009. The soundco has used it on major tours for Spanish artist Shaila Dúrcal, Israel's Shiri Maimon, Mexico's Kalimba, composer Carlos Cuevas, Pepe Aguilar, Susana Zavaleta, Pablo Montero, Argentine Queen tribute band and, for two consecutive years, with Mexican Christian community Mega Frater, along with a variety of corporate events.

Adlib Supports U.K.’s Big Chill Festival

HERTFORDSHIRE, UK – Adlib supplied The Big Chill festival with a crew of seven and the sound system designs for two stages. Otto Kroymann (crew chief), Mike Flaherty, George Puttock and Tommy Bradshaw worked on the Revellers stage, while Alan Harrison, Simon Lawson and Chris Smethurst looked after The People's Ear stage.

The Association of Sound Designers (ASD) Forms in U.K.

LONDON – The Association of Sound Designers (ASD), a new trade association, is set to launch at PLASA 2011. Under the leadership of Gareth Fry, chair of the newly-elected Board of Trustees, ASD will be at Stand 1-J38 in Earls Court 1. ASD is offering a range of membership categories aligned with the interests of those working in the U.K. theatre sound industry, with categories for students, businesses and other organizations.
