SIRKKA, Finland – The Kylpylahotelli Levintunturi spa and hotel features 220 guest rooms across 10 hotel buildings with restaurants, cafes, clubs, a bowling facility and, of course, its namesake spa. Electro Waves Oy, an installer of audio, lighting and water systems, provided the sound reinforcement system that was needed to fulfill the property's needs.

GDANSK, Poland – The new 44,000-seat PGE Arena, which will serve as a venue for the UEFA Euro 2012 soccer championship, has been equipped with a new Harman sound system. ESS Audio provided 75 JBL PD5212-64 WRX weather-resistant loudspeakers configured in 24 clusters of three for the spectators; the last three loudspeakers are aimed onto the field itself.

GLIWICE, Poland – Stadion Piast, a newly constructed stadium built in compliance with UEFA regulations, is home to the Polish Ekstraklasa league club, Gliwicki Klub Sportowy Piast. The new 10,000-seat stadium is built on the site of the old stadium and incorporates a sound system designed and installed by Tommex Zebrowscy.

BERLIN, Germany – Meyer Sound’s MM-4XP miniature loudspeakers debuted at an arts facility called MADE. Located on the ninth floor of a high-rise building in downtown Berlin, the 400 square-meter space is designed for artists to exhibit interdisciplinary projects and can be divided into five separate areas for various functions, including music performances.

CUMBRIA, U.K. –Ward Steedsy provided the PA for the Dance Tent, one of the main performance stages for Solfest, a non-commercial music and arts festival staged annually in northwest England.

LONDON – D.A.S. Audio’s Road Series of monitors have been used extensively this past summer by APR Audio, based in Wellington, U.K., to support outdoor festivals, including London’s Feis, the John Peel Stage at Glastonbury and the Hop Farm festival in Kent.

SYDNEY, Australia – Currently playing at the Lyric Theater, the musical Hairspray features an audio design by Michael Waters for Jands Production Services that includes the use of 26 Shure UHF-R Micro Bodypack Transmitters (UR1M) and Shure UR4D Dual Receivers.

TURIN, Italy – The recently-opened, 41,000-seat Juventus soccer stadium has been equipped with RCF loudspeakers, provided by RCF’s commercial audio department, which was also involved with the audio design for other buildings in the sports complex.

LONDON – PLASA 2011 got underway Sept. 11 with its perennial focus on the latest new gear. Highlights included Midas' PRO2/PRO2C, Lake's LM 44 digital audio system processor and Lab.gruppen's E Series amplifiers. Also drawing interest were Outline's GTO-DF, JoeCo's BlackBox BBR64-MADI Recorder and Allen & Heath's Waves SoundGrid interface for iLive, among many other new gear offerings. The show runs through Sept. 14.
