BRIGHTON, U.K. – MSL, which provided a Martin Audio system for Ministry of Sound's Hed Kandi bar in Clapham, U.K. earlier this year, returned to the brand for the new Hed Kandi flagship location in Brighton, using Martin Audio gear throughout the venue. The main dance floor setup pairs 15 wall-mounted AQ8 speakers with four floor-supported AQ212 and one AQ210 sub-bass units.

LONDON – The Soho Theatre, a showcase for drama, comedy and cabaret, has hosted British and international performers including Demetri Martin, John Leguizamo, Eugene Mirman, Stuart Silver and Richard Herring. The technical team recently added a Soundcraft Vi1 digital live sound console.

MEXICO CITY – Meyer Sound dealer Audiopro of Mexico City provided and installed Meyer Sound gear at a recently-opened Buddha-Bar chain restaurant/lounge location here. The setup includes 15 UP-4XP loudspeakers in stereo zones in the lounge area, with bass support from five M1D-Sub subwoofers. The system also includes 24 MM-4XP augmented by nine MM-10 miniature subwoofers in the terrace area.

OSLO, Norway – Norwegian distributor Scandec Systemer supplied and installed an L-Acoustics KARA WST line source system in the Norwegian National Theatre in Oslo. The new system consists of seven KARA cabinets flown with two SB18 subs per side, with a center array of 10 KIVA speakers. The system is driven by LA4 and LA8 amplified controllers.

SINGAPORE – Consolidated Audio Networks provided vocal reinforcement for the month-long A Cappella Festival in Singapore, including a Turbosound loudspeaker system consisting of NuQ-15, NuQ-12 speakers and Milan M18 powered subwoofers.

ROVANIEMI, Finland – Starlike Oy opted for Community iBOX series loudspeakers to enhance the carefully-designed acoustics within the new 340-seat concert auditorium for the Lapland Chamber Orchestra, part of the expanded Korundi House of Culture. There are L-R clusters of two Community iHP1566, a center cluster of two iHP1266, two 18" i118S subwoofers and four iHP1266 units for moveable fill and point effects, along with 12 I/05 loudspeakers for surround sound. The system is powered by Yamaha P-series amplifiers, with Yamaha DME24N for DSP. The mixer is a Yamaha LS9-16.

NORJE, Sweden – The annual Sweden Rock Festival, held since 1992, now features five stages. For the Rock Klassiker stage, Fegge & Mattes Sound – Light & Event provided a RCF TT+ sound system, including 12 RCF TTL55-A line array modules and six RCF TTS56-A subwoofers.

RIO DE JANEIRO – The 10th annual week-long Rock In Rio festival drew 700,000 to the site planned for the 2016 Summer Olympics to hear Guns N' Roses, Shakira, Katy Perry, Stevie Wonder, Ke$ha, Metallica, Rihanna, Coldplay, Elton John, the Red Hot Chili Peppers and many other top artists perform. Gabisom Audio Equipment provided the massive sound system, which included a main PA hang of 120 VerTec VT4889 line array elements and 84 VT4880A subwoofers.

BEIJING – LAB, a major sound equipment rental company with locations in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Macao, recently purchased Outline gear including the company's GTO line-source system, GTO-LOW base extension modules and a number of Mantas compact line-source cabinets, high-power LAB 21 HS subwoofers, T 11 lightweight power amplifiers and numerous other accessories. Outline sent two members of its staff to Beijing to train the rental company's techs, mostly on the use of the GTO system.

LONDON – An American football game might not be a rarity in October. But this one, pitting the Chicago Bears against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, took place at London's Wembley Stadium. By the time the Bears beat the Bucs, 24-18, some 77,000 fans had also had the chance to listen to pregame shows by the Goo Goo Dolls, Noah Stewart and Katherine Jenkins. Britannia Row Productions provided an extensive Outline loudspeaker system for the event.

PLOIESTI, Romania – FBS Lines, RCF's distributor in Romania, provided audio gear for Ilie Oana Stadium, a soccer stadium here. The installation included 24 RCF P6215 and 28 RCF P4228 speakers to cover the tribune sections of the stadium. The speakers are powered by six RCF DPS 3000 amplifiers and controlled by two RCF DX 4008 digital loudspeaker management units and other RCF gear.
