Noel Gallagher Tour Crew Adapts to Changing Needs with Different Midas Consoles

LONDON — Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds world tour recently completed its U.K. arena leg, with Midas XL8s from Britannia Row at FOH and monitors. As the tour moves on to more European and U.S. dates for spring and summer, The band’s FOH and monitor engineers will be adapting to the needs of different performance spaces with other Midas products — first a Midas PRO6, then Midas’ new PRO2C for summer festival appearances.

Czech Republic’s Jazz Tibet Club Upgrades with Soundcraft Si Compact 32

OLOMOUC, Czech Republic – Vladimir Foret, program director of the Jazz Tibet Club, noted how the venue’s sound engineer, Peter Svarc, opted for a Harman Soundcraft Si Compact 32 digital audio console to upgrade the older digital console with 16 inputs that had been in use at the club. Among the new console’s benefits, Foret said, is the ability to combine the best of both worlds — analog’s ease-of-use and digital’s vast array of audio processing resources.

iLive and IDR Systems Installed in New Icelandic Venue

REYKJAVIK, Iceland — Several Allen & Heath iLive and iDR digital mixers were installed in the new Harpa concert hall and conference center here, which features four main performance spaces. iLive systems including an iDR-16 MixRack and iLive-R72 Control Surface have been installed in the Norourljos recital hall and Kaldalon hall, while a combined FOH and monitor system, including iDR-16 MixRacks and an iLive-R72 and iLive-T80 surfaces, is in use at the Silfurberg conference hall.

Takida Tours Scandinavia with Midas PRO2s

LUND, Sweden — Rock band Takida has embarked on its spring tour of Scandinavia in support of their fourth studio album, The Burning Heart. Scandinavian rental company Starlight is providing Midas PRO2 consoles at both FOH and monitors positions. Starlight, which purchased the PRO2s from Midas’ Swedish distributor Intersonic, is the first company in the region to use a dual system on a tour.
