RG Jones Invests in Martin Audio MLA System

LONDON — After testing Martin Audio’s active Multi-cellular Loudspeaker Array (MLA) on a series of events, UK rental company RG Jones Sound Engineering Ltd has invested in the new system. The company’s 24 MLA top boxes and 12 MLX subs, with six dedicated amplifier and DSP channels per enclosure, will make their debut on a series of shows in April and May.

DK Vascom Upgrades Catholic Church in Seoul with Iconyx

SEOUL — Dai Kyung Vascom, Renkus-Heinz distributor for South Korea, recently installed a pair of Iconyx digitally steerable array loudspeakers as part of an overall audio system upgrade for the Donam-dong Catholic church in Donam-dong, Seoul, South Korea. Used for both the spoken word and music, the system was designed to improve acoustic intelligibility and musical clarity  in this 400-seat local church.

BRUSSELS, Belgium — Belgian audio visual company GSF Event co-owner Sammy Freh was looking for a “compact console with lots of inputs and outputs and with very good sound quality” to support an event promoting the latest in the 49-year-old line of Porshe 911s. Freh used a DiGiCo SD9 with a DiGiRack and L-Acoustics PA system for the event.

The Wanted Band and Crew Opt for Sennheiser Gear

DUBLIN — Canegreen and SSE Audio supported the recent 2012 U.K. arena tour for The Wanted. The “boy band” wrapped up its tour with a show here in early March. The crew included Ryan McLean at monitors and Andrew Thornton handling both FOH and production manager duties. Both said Sennheiser mics and in-ear monitors proved to be the right choice for the band.
