BERLIN — Britz Castle, in Berlin’s Neukölln district, has been converted into a new cultural center that includes a 300-seat concert and theatre hall. System Integration Berlin, led by Dirk Förster, equipped the venue with Allen & Heath’s iLive digital mixing system.

JOHANNESBURG — Gearhouse South Africa has recently reinvested in more L-Acoustics components to complete its existing inventory of KUDO, V-DOSC, dV-DOSC and ARCS. The new equipment includes 48 KARA, 12 ARCSII and 12 KUDO line source cabinets, eight SB28 and 24 SB18 subwoofers, and 22 LA-RAK touring racks installed with LA8 amplified controllers.

FRANKFURT, Germany  — Alcons Audio featured its new RR12 modular arrayable point-source system at Prolight+Sound 2012. The system consists of two-way elements with a 30º dispersion in the coupling plane and a 60º asymmetrical dispersion in the non-coupling plane. Featuring a high-output 12-inch driver in combination with a newly developed six inch pro-ribbon driver, RR12 can be used as horizontal or vertical array.

LONDON — The 2012 Queen’s Awards for Enterprise recognized 209 U.K. standouts in international trade, innovation and sustainable development, including several audio manufacturers. Among those honored: Allen & Heath, Focusrite Audio Engineering Ltd. and Orange Music Electronic Co. Ltd. (for international trade) and B&W Group Ltd., Element Six Ltd. and Turbosound Ltd. (for innovation). Turbosound was recognized for its Polyhorn and Dendritic innovations, incorporated into the gear in use at the Royal Albert Hall, pictured here.

ATHENS, Greece — The first Red Bull Soundclash in Greece recently was supported by a TTL+ active line array system from RCF — provided as part of a complete sound, lighting and visual package across two identical stages by Greek production company, Kariotis Meletios Events Productions.

LONDON — Florence + The Machine is touring with gear provided by Britannia Row, with the lead singer using a customized Sennheiser SKM 5200 microphone with an MD 5235 head, and musicians and backing vocalists using Sennheiser’s 2000 Series in-ear monitoring.

ODENSE, Denmark — The Odense Teater, which had its origins back in 1796, recently upgraded to a Meyer Sound surround system based on the MINA line array and miniature MM-4XP loudspeakers. Kastrup, Denmark-based integrator Stouenborg was contracted to install the gear to meet a variety of objectives, including flexibility and coherence.

PUNE, India – On March 10, at the modern planned community of Amanora Park Town, the second installment of this year’s Eristoff Invasion Festival took place.  Sound & Light Professionals (SNL Pro) of Mumbai supported the event, headlined by DJ David Guetta, with Aero and Aero Series 2 loudspeakers from D.A.S. ZANZIBAR, Tanzania — Billed as “the friendliest festival on the planet,” Sauti za Busara is the highlight of the annual music calendar in Tanzania. The East African event takes place over five days in February and this year attracted 400 musicians from across the continent. With a dedicated DiGiCo SD8 console at the Front of House position, the event featured an eclectic range of music.

The company has added 96 KARA modular WST line source cabinets, 66 of the new ARCSII constant curvature WST line source cabinets, 50 SB28 subwoofers and 36 LA-RAK touring racks to its professional AV rental stock.
